489.0. "Jerry T-shirts for all of us" by CXDOCS::BARNES () Thu Oct 05 1995 17:13

Here's an offering from rfb and Patty....we are gonna do this anyway
for the local heads, but I thought I'd offer it to the world since the
world has offered us things like this before, like DEChead t-shirts,
on of which I have on today!!

We are taking our old Telluride t-shirt design (skeleton arm/hand
holding a rose) and redesigning it for a Jerry shirt. (Probz and a few
others back there may have the original t-shirt that youse guys could
look at if ya want.) The idea is to remove TELLURIDE from under the
arm-n-rose and replace it with JJG 1942-1995 and on the back in fancy
scroll "fare ye well, etc" . I called and started this through the
t-shirt printer already and it looks like this:

Black long sleeve t-s with a white skeletal hand, red rose and
black-outlined-with-white leaf. (The original print needs to be
"reversed" cause the original drawing has the arm in black, which will
cost us but we will eat that fee) and the "fare ye well, " lyrics on
the back in white lettering. We'll probably do large and xtra-large.
These will cost us abouyt $13.00/ea and I want to sell them for $15.00 so
I won't haveta ask for postage monies. THERE IS NO PROFIT MOTIVE BEHIND
THIS EFFORT!!! I get 72 shirts on the first order (don't ask me why 72
is the magic number) and if there's interest I may spilt the order
between long sleeves and short, Patty suggested this. Short would be
cheaper I assume, but haven't asked yet.

Anyway, if ya'll are interested, reply to this note with:
    * size request,
    * type (long or short),
*and then send me yer address via e-mail (I know how paranoid some of
    ya'll are! %^)

and I'll do the logistics. I'm putting 20% down this week for the first
    batch.

I'll take an XL long sleeve and a L short sleeve. Thanks. Also, having done
the v3 DEChead tees I'd suggest doing $16 ea instead of $15 that will give
you a better P&H average to cover your costs. I'd be happy to get all of
the Nashua and/or ZKO tees and distribute to save time and $ for rfb &
Patty.

489.11a DEChead t-shirt story...STAR::ECOMAN::DEBESSa leaf of all colors plays...Thu Oct 05 1995 18:2825
to borrow a line from carol, stop me if I've told you
	this story before ;-)...

one of the night's of last year's Boston run, I was
conversing with my neighbor (who I didn't know) during
the set break...all of a sudden I saw a woman wearing
a DEChead t-shirt jump the rail into the loge section
and I asked out loud - oh, I wonder who that is with that
shirt on - and my neighbor said to me "I know the guy
who made that shirt" and I said "no shit - -I- know the
guy who made that shirt" and he says "yeah, Robert"...
well I know that Scott Abbot made the shirt, so I say
"oh, do you mean the person who printed it? cause I know
the guy who designed it and his name is not Robert"
"no, no", the guy insists "my friend Robert designed that
shirt"...so, I'm thinking to myself, this guy is bullshitting
	me...but after a while I think Robert...Bob...Bob White!
(2 different versions of DEChead t-shirts!)...
and I turn back to him and say "Do you mean Bob White?"
"Yeah! Yeah! Bob's living in Texas now and he was just here last
week to see Clapton..." I love when that happens! (and I know
these magic things will happen again...mark my words)

    rfb,

one of your replys indicated you hate checks... does that mean you
prefer a money order? not that it matters really to me, but if it
makes it easier for you one way or the other, i'd like to give you
the preferred method of payment... besides, since we haven't had to
mail order for a while, getting a money order would be like, a

the article about them in the Cabinet a couple of years ago, but couldn't find
them the last time I needed cheques. Since it's almost that time again, I'd
like to see what they have available. Do they have a place that one can stop
in? Since it's in the next town, I'd prefer that to phone/mail.

Thanks,

I hate to corrupt your note rfb but this is the only place i could
    think of putting it...
For all you nostalgia types, I bought an 8x10 copy off a guy a few
years back of the Boston Garden/North Station lettering on the Garden
and there is a Budweiser billboard on top that says, "In Boston Nothing
Beats a Bud"...well some inspired heads happened to scale the walls and
repaint the sign to say,"In Boston Nothing Beats THE DEAD" during one
garden run....From radio reports it took the boys 20k to fix it
    right...
so I am offering copies, with enough interest, and will try and get
prices form different photo shops unless someone has another idea..
Oh yeah..there is a HUGE blue school bus parked right off to the side
under the T line with a nice Zappa For President sticker in the window
