Well folks, it's time to say goodbye.  After 10+ years at Digital, I've decided
to move on to better and safer ground.  My last day is this friday.  

I will be working at CIS, Inc. in Newton, MA as a technical sales support
consultant.  It's an 18 person company; I'm number 19.  This will be a welcome
change!  I'll finally get away from the big corporation B.S. that plagues this
company.

My main reason (there are actually several reasons for leaving, some are
obvious to all) is $$$$.  We (my wife and I) are not getting anywhere
financially, especially because of my employment at DEC.  By me getting raises
every 18 months or later that barely keep up with inflation, our financial life
is at a stand still.  For the past couple of years, I've realized how underpaid
I am compared to others in my field.  CIS obviously agrees and is compensating
quite well.  I even negotiated 3 weeks vacation in the deal.

I really enjoyed my life at DEC. I learned quite a deal here!!  What I
gained from DEC is immeasurable.  Nonetheless, the bird must leave the nest
someday.  DEC was my first "major" employer; I started here just when I turned
21.  

I've been noting in Grateful since around 1986 or 7.  The notesfile and the
people in it have always been a source of comfort and joy!  I've been noting in
Grateful as long as I've been into the dead!  You've made the dead experience
even more enjoyable and enlightening.

CIS is not on the internet, YET!  They are looking into it and I volunteered to
help.  Perhaps I can convince them onto the Internet from a business standpoint
of course!  I'll copy the membership list just in case.

	I noticed a few days ago you were heading out, as you were trying to unload the Sherlock Holmes note conference. Sounds like a good move Dave. I know how the financial stuff can go. You really need to get into a place with a fairly high salary and get promoted to do well. Best of luck, and do you still want those Boston Garden tapes (waitin on the blanks!!)?
