332.0. "Desert Island Discs" by ICS::ODONNELL (It's hard being string all the time) Wed Jan 06 1993 13:24

    Cool Runnings Friends~

I don't think there's a note like this in here so here goes:

    THE SCENARIO:

You are stranded on a deserted island after a shipwreck. There is
plenty of food growing on the island as well as materials for shelter.
You are unhurt but totally alone. You have a first aid kit, some
tools, adequate clothing, a solar-powered CD player and *10* compact
    discs.

    THE QUESTION:

What 10 discs are there with you?

    THE RULES:

-only originally released albums, i.e. no "best of" collections, etc.
    -live albums are valid, however
-CD format only (sorry no bootlegs!)
    -no "samplers"
-if something was released on LP and hasn't made it to CD yet, you can
assume it has for these purposes
    -enjoy!

    Peace,
    The Lorax

Ten disks almost makes it too easy. One clarification, though. Does
the "no best of" rule apply if there was new material included?

Hmmm . . . let's say if 50% or more of the tracks are new, the album is
    eligible. Sound fair?

Well, since it excludes the CD that prompted the question (25% new,
with one new song that really stands out), no. :) 'S'okay, though, I have
an alternate.

band's name properly at the moment)

I realized after making my list that I did not include any female
artists. There are a couple of Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell
selections I could have included but with only 10 slots I had to make
    the cuts somewhere.
