408.0. "Goodbye" by TERAPN::PHYLLIS (a rare and different tune) Wed Jun 08 1994 18:03

    hey there..

well, as some of you know by now, i was layed off yesterday. i knew it
was coming for a couple of weeks, but we had gotten a deferred
notification through the end of the month so i could finish up a couple
of projects i was working on. well, pesatori reversed the deferment
and my boss had to lay me off in the lobby of the ana hotel in san
francisco yesterday. we had heard rumors of the cancelled deferrment
and had been trying to reach personnel all day but they never even
bothered to return any phone calls. when we got bak to the hotel after
the show yesterday, there was a fax waiting for my boss with my
    termination papers.  real class act right down to the end, huh? ;-}

anyway - this all has hit me harder than i thought it would. even
though i can't say i'm really sorry to leave digital, when you work
somewhere for 7 1/2 years, it's part of your identity whether you like
it or not and it still hurts a lot. of course, what i'll miss the most
is all of you. i think this notesfile is the only thing that really
made this place bearable for the last couple of years - especially when
they took away the free helicopter rides. ;-) please try and keep in
touch if you can - i know i'll still see a lot of you on the road. if
you're ever headed down my way, feel free to call or stop by. my
    address and number is:

    Phyllis Koyner
    339 E. 33rd St. #2R
    NYC, NY 10016
    212-684-6683

i'm not exactly a technical type so it's not all that likely that i'll
end up with net access in my next life, but if i do - i'll let someone
know my address. until then - take care and keep smiling and know that
you're all in my heart. if anyone wants to send me their address or
phone number - please email it to fredda at nyem1::turnof. this will
probably be my last day on-line - unless someone brings a laptop to
cal expo. ;-) i'll only be here in the san francisco office for
another couple of hours so i probably won't be reading much more email.
oh yeah - i guess i should mention - what i do is event management. if
anyone has any leads for me - please call.

i think i'm just about ready for some cal expo therapy right now. hope
to see some of you there - and if not this week, maybe vermont.

    i'll miss you.

    love,
    phyllis

    My dear Miss Phyllis,

(yes, that is what we call you! and you know it!) So, it's spring '87,
I've just learned how to manuver through notes and Marla and I want to
go see da boyz. No tickets, what to do? Hop onto the notes
file and notice that one GKELLER has a couple of tickets for sale. I
write him a note offering him my first born child (yes that is true -
Geoff do you remember?) if he'll sell me those ducats. Lo and behold,
he sells me the tickets, but, I get to keep the non-existent kid!! I
publish a thanks to Geoff in da files. What happens next? One, P.
Koyner notices that I have a NY mail node and calls me up. You're at
the old 42nd St office (NY Daily News building with one of the coolest
lobbies in NY). We meet for lunch and the rest is history...too
numerous Dead shows, Jones Beach, Giants Stadium, Waterloo Village,
MSG, Albany, Nassau, Meadowlands, Slip into Summer, etc, etc, etc.

You've helped me through crisis after crisis. What would we do without
your commentary during lunch? How else am I going to know what's going
on with the muckity mucks? Will John still say hello to me (ha, ha)?

I am so crushed that you're leaving. It's like losing someone from my
family. But, friendships live and grow and we'll just take it to a
    different plane.

    I miss you already.

    With much love,

Another one bites the TFSO dust...Friday, March 24th is it...it wasn't

done fell. i was ready to leave on my own, but the package makes it
that much sweeter...now i'm free from this agony and ready to spend

i haven't met many folks in here personally...Josh and i rub elbows
from time to time, but most of you i don't know in any other way but
    through this notes file....

But you are family...i feel like after noting in here for the last few
years that you folks are as warm and familiar as true friends can be.

i'll hook up with rfb and MikeTHead when i get out for the Vegas
shows...this we will do...and when i get a net address i'll throw it to

Hey Deane,
I'm glad to hear you got to stay, and do well with it too.
I haven't been able to reach RDVAX for about 6 weeks and my
biggest question was how your situation was. I'm glad to hear it's well
and relieved as it was the first note I came in on.

Geoff
