484.0. "gonna tear that old building down" by EVMS::GRABAZS (IHad1ofThoseFlashesI'dBeenThereBefore) Wed Sep 13 1995 12:56

tonight will be the first Dead show that will not be...

lots of us have/had tickets to the show. what normally
would be a day of GRATE expectation and anticipation
is now a day of - of what - bummed that I won't
be in the same room where the music is playing into
my body, sad that I won't be magically running into
people that I see -only- at Deadshowz, grieving for
Jerry yet again on another level - I don't know, how
are y'all dealin' with it today?

I brought in a tape of the first night of last year's
Boston run. I was in the 12th row - what a show too! -
Rich Fromm was in front of me and took out his swiss
army knife and cut the plastic tabs holding the chairs
together and we had ourselves our own little dance
floor. Deane-o was a few rows in back and we kept
shouting greetings to eachother. I sat next to
Ben for 3 nights even though we didn't mailorder
together. The show was SO HOT - even though it was
the first night of the tour, they were ON! Only
	Saturday night surpassed it, IMHO...
I'll be plugged into that as much as possible today.

Tonite, when I get home, I plan to walk into the woods
by myself and do some reflecting.

I want to do something symbolic today too. I have a
rose I bought the day after Jerry died, dried on the
dashboard of my car. I'd like to put it somewhere
	ceremoniously today?

I'll have to dance. (thanks Slipknot for giving me
ample opportunity on Saturday - I needed that!)

	take care, y'all,
	Debess

the weather is fitting: cloudy and dreary.
normally, i'd have to be tied down to my chair at this point, cuz
i'd be floating above it otherwise. but today, there seems to be
	extra gravity. bummed. :-(

I'll be in my damn class tonight at U-Lowell, as well as JC and Deb I
believe. We were planning on going to the Lowell Brewery after class,
but I'm tempted to blast right into the Commonwealth Brewery and help
support some of the local business that will suffer as a result of
the no-show. I am not going to think about what could have been, I
need to focus on what there was and what will be.

I listened to TLE from 9-21-94 this morning on the way to work. Seems
Jerry's solution to bad sound at the Gahdin was to crank it up. :-)

One of my favorite memories of last year's Garden shows was one the first
night. We were on the floor (row 20 I think). Anyway as Billy & Mickey
progressed into drums seemingly everyone on the fllor took there seats --
except for Debess & Guntis who continued to dance and sway under the glow
of the stage lights. That one always makes me smile.

Last night would have been the last concert in the Garden.
Boy, I'm missing Jerry this morning.
