84.1directions to Nick's in North Uxbridge MassLEDS::MRNGDU::YETTOchild of countless dreamsFri Feb 15 1991 16:3824
	cross posted from GRATEFUL_OLD...

For those of you going to Nick's tonight here are some things to remember
because the place is easy to miss.

Nick's is less than a mile into North Uxbridge (going south on 122)

It is on the right, fairly hidden with an entrance and parking in
the back. A road comes out behind it and forks with 122. At this
fork there is a gas station at which there is a PEPSI sign (it also
says Mr. Bills). Across the street and just before this sign is
a sign saying "Hellen's" something or other.....

There is a sign for Nicks but it is a black tent sign out front,
	nothing lit up.

It is north of the intersection with 16.

See you there,

Lisa

Since Chris will be coming from the south/west I'm not sure how useful those
direx will be for him.

For him (and I) the way to get to Clinton would be via Rt. 62, which can be
reached from 290 via 140 North I think. Or just start from the Rt. 62 West
exit of 495, although, from Worcester, you'd be doing a lot of back-tracking.

What I do know is, once you arrive on Main St. in Clinton (coming from the
south), pass City Hall Music on the left, then, at the light, turn right onto
Water Street. Branch Street is a right hand turn about 1/4 mile up the road.

Quick data - from my house in Hudson MA, very near the junction
of Route 62 and I-495, it's 46 miles and 55 minutes to the
	White Horse.

There are several ways - here's one:

I-495 north to Route 119 west through Pepperel and Groton

to Route 13 North into New Hampshire (watch your speed on this
	road!)

Route 13 to Route 101 *East* for about 1 mile,

	To Route 101A *West*

White Horse is on the right after about 1 mile.

Comment - a *great* place to see Slipknot! Other than being a
decent sized place with room to sit and room to dance and
reasonalby priced Sam Adams on tap is that I always get to
see a bunch of great DECheads, for example, Jim Henderson and
Carol Roberts and John Shep and Randy Switts brother and Bob
Hapgood and Rea and Tom Spine and ... and ... and ...
and ... Please, no offense to anyone I didn't mention!

	I've considering going Saturday night...

Sorry, i was out friday afternoon.

From the Cape...

Take 495N to rte 85/16 toward Milford, continue on 16 through Uxbridge.
about 2 miles after the center of Uxbridge look for signs to the Uxbridge
F&G. Take a left (toward the F&G). The Whitensville F&G is approximately
1 mile after the Uxbridge F&G.

From WORCESTER AREA...

Take 146 South to Rte 16S (Uxbridge/Douglas). Take a right at the end of
the exit, after approx. 1 mile you'll see signs for the Uxbridge F&G. Take
a left on this road. The Whitensville F&G is about 1 mile past the
Uxbridge F&G

Hope this helps,

Take Rte. 9 west into Worcester. At the lights half way up the hill
turn left, it'a about a mile & a half up the street on your right,
looks like a resturant with that yellow marquie.

Yes, I and my S.O. are going. Its a nice place, JC, nice nautical
ambience. Good sized dance floor with a (relatively) high ceiling.
Tables in the bar room overlook the dance floor. Last time the 'Knot

Larry's stack fell over in the middle of a jam. I'll be there around 9:30.

Rush room does likely refer to Rush Limbaugh. Saw an article last year
sometime about how some restaurants and such were setting up
Rush rooms so the "DittoHeads" could all gather and listen/watch
Rush together. How cute! Sigh.... I can't take more than about

Nope, no reservations necessary or accepted. The plantation Club holds
about 225 or 250 so there shouldn't be any problems if you get there before
10:00 or 10:30.

Also, we had our arms twisted and we do have one other show in January

So ah, Where was everybody this weekend??? The only other noter we ran
into was Geoff K. Sean O'Conner was there with Noreen but we didn't se
them skiing. Mike Rosen and Mark Eklof were there, but they were with
us so I knew they would be. I saw Cathy Sloan across the bar, but never
    on ski.
So for all you skiers out there, you missed a great weekend of no
crowds, not waiting and great skiing! Snowless Mogul Field blues???
Not this weekend. Oh man, we were rippin' through the snow. Many bump
lines to be had and plenty of soft stuff to make new bumps. There was a
concentration of people on Risky BUsiness, but otherwise most of the
mountain was free of crowds. We skied T2, Airglow, Some other trails I
can't name, Downdraft (??), and decided that the conditions on the
black trails were the best of the very good conditions at the mountain.
Robyn and I ran into Geoff and John B. while on the slopes, but
nobody else while skiing. The knot shows in the evening were a great
way to do Apres ski, but by Saturday night I couldn't move to dance ant
the end of the first set. But the skiing was fantastic!!!! It was a
really fun day!! I just can't express how good the skiing was awesomely
quick my skis and boots were from edge to edge.
The only thing I don't understand is why there weren't more DEChead
skiers on hand? It was such a great time to ski!

    	Grate Skiing!!!!!

After many months of inner deliberation, I have decided that I must resign
from Slipknot as their manager. As of Tuesday January 10 I am no longer a
member of Slipknot.

This was a very hard decision for me because I love what I do. However, I
need to spend more time and energy with my family and my "real job" and
cannot devote the energy required to help Slipknot keep on growing.

Everyone in the band was very understanding and I have an open invitation
to return should I ever want to.

I thought you folks might be interested to hear this. Don't worry, you'll
still see Pam and me at shows once in awhile (I still have my all access
pass), however I won't be running around like a chicken with my head cut
off, I'll be completely enjoying the music and not worrying about the
details (Yeah right, I wouldn't know what to do at a show if I wasn't
working:-))

    Geoff,

I'm sorry to hear that...it's obvious that your efforts have gone
far in the promotion of the band as the number, size and significance

I'm sure they'll miss your contributions greatly.

From Lowell/Andover -- Take 93 South to Storrow Drive Outbound. Get off on
the Fenway Exit and get onto Boyleston St. Outbound. Go about 5 blocks and
look for Bruger King on your Left. Turn onto Kilmarnock St immediately
after BK (If you go past Star Market you've gone to far). Go through the
1st intersection on Kilmarnock St and the Lynnwood is right there. They
have parking behind the building.

Yah, Boundery St. To Elm. The road is not too far down Elm, there must be a sign

Muddy Lane.
BOundery St. is about a mile from 495, directly across from Haynes
Memorial Drive (The A&M Dragway to the local teenagers of the late '70s)

Elm st. is aobut 400-500 feet down Boundery st., on the right.

bummer of the day for me was my DAT not cooperating... :^( Gerry
thought i was only getting a signal on one side so he swapped decks
with his for the soundboard feed... i've been told that the machine
does this when it's getting an analog signal but i'm not sure...
anyway, when we tried to put it back in the chain later, the door
wouldn't stay shut! so my machine was useless...

the board tapes for the Jiggle set have pretty bad distortion (and they
brought their own soudn guy to run it too!)... must have been a pre-eq
mix cuz i didn't hear that in the final mix... SLipknot's set has this
too but it's much less noticable... i hven't heard the tapes of our
set yet (as i said, DAT no cooperating) so i can't say if it's there...

i'd like to get audience tapes... how'd yours come out Josh?

    					da ve
84.96not to bad for my first try!QUOIN::BELKINone...3...5...7..8..9.10!Tue May 30 1995 18:0326
Well, my tapes came out fairly good, I think, with a few caveats.
1. I used AC power, like everyone else taping (I think) so everytime the
PA/board power went out there's a loud PFFFZZZTTT! as my deck (and the PA)
died.
2. The mikes I have (Core Sonic "Battery Box" omni's) did real well IMHO,
a very good sound image, excellent bass (esp. on "You Don't Know How It Feels).
But when the wind picked up a little in Slipknot's sets, I can hear the sound
get that slight phaseyness from the wind. Not from the wind on the mike
capsules, but a slight hollowness that comes and goes.
3. The mikes accurately captured the IMO not-so-great sound of Slipknot's
set... I think their soundman didn't mix it too well. The problem is in the
high freq (4-10 Khz)... too loud, or a peak that should have been cut down.
He had the bass turned way down too, which he should not have done.
Haven't listened to the Jiggle set yet.

4. The PA had a problem with a channel humming real loud during the CtW set.
You can hear it on the tape, however, I have a 60Hz hum filter that can remove
most if not all of the hum. I'd have to dub analog though, since the filter
only has analog inputs/outputs. I'd be able to fix the EQ a little too,
as long as I'd be dubbing DAT > analog sound processing stuff > DAT.

The CtW set is about 1:15, so it would fit on a 90 min DAT.
Jiggle's set was also less than 1 1/2 hours.
Slipknots two sets would fit together on a 3 hour DAT.

thier schedule is reduced considerably due to a number of things...
one being that they are recording again... another being time off when
Bruce and Tina got married... now more time off cuz John and Linda
just got married (gotta have them honeymoons ya know! :^)... and
the recent change in management probably hurts still too... (after all,
*somebody* still has to do all the stuff that Geoff used to do
while they worked on playing... :^)...

they'll be back... but i bet they'll all be glad to know that they are
missed too... :^) (and yes, i'll tell Bruce)

shop right by the road...look for Route 20 to go left up a hill

i dont have my schedule in front of me, and cant seem to find my new
    knotline number either... hmmm...

anyway, if they are indeed at Tammany, as i suspect, it is on pleasant
st in worcester... pleasant st is right downtown... easiest direx are
fromthe centrum... the centrum is at he corner of worc center bvd and
commercial st (i think it is commercial anyway)... take commercial
up to main (about two blocks) and go left on main... pleasant comes
into main 3-4 blocks up on the right... however, at this point it is a
one way st down into main... you cant make the right... continue up
and go around the block (chatham st? next couple of rights) and you
can come back around to Tammany... looks smal from the front but it's
big inside... parking is tough on pleasant st but there should be plenty
of parking as you're coming aound the block... david hale fanning
trade school is up there, as is st pauls cathedral...

Yes, Lynwood Grille is near Fenway park.

    From Storrow Drive:

Take Storrow Drive to the Fenway exit.

Bear RIGHT, you will go through a light (green arrow).

Go straight through next 1 or 2 lights. You will pass WBCN on
your right, and a McDonalds on your left.

Look for a Burger King on your left. Take the next left after
    	the Burger King.

Lynwood Grille will be one block up, on the right. There is a
driveway to the right of the door, go in here and park behind
the club in the parking lot.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

To get to Storrow Drive from Mass Pike:
Take the Mass Pike to the Allston/Cambridge exit (exit 17), which
    	will be on the left.

After you pay the $0.50 toll, bear right towards CAMBRIDGE.

Go straight through first set of lights and get into far right
        lane.

Take a right at next light (Guest Quarters Suite Hotel) and you are
    	on Storrow Drive.

    	Follow directions above.

on 9/25 at the P club... is that Slipknot acoustic or Bruce Manadaro
band acoustic??? i think it's Bruce but no the knot... i also believe
one of Bruce's guests that night is Pete Savageau, who does the lead

84.150Bruce Mandaro Band Live Tonite - 9/21/95XLIB::REHILLCall Me Mystery HillThu Sep 21 1995 19:3618

I just got off the phone with Bruce Mandaro. He says the
Bruce Mandaro Band (BMB) will be playing tonite, yes, tonite,
September 21, at the Plantation Club in Worcester.

The BMB for tonite will consist of Bruce Mandaro on guitar and vocals,
Buddy Cage performing his usual magic, Mark Mercier (of Max Creek) on
Keyboards and vocals, John 'The Bottom' Brigham (from Slipknot) on
Bass, and Mike Zecco (from Slipknot) on Drums.

Show time is 9:30, with a cover of $4.00.

A good time should be had by all.

Also, Bruce says that on 9/25, it is not Slipknot opening for Mocha
Java, but the Accoustice Bruce Mandaro Band.

It's very close to Lowell Memorial Auditorium. I, um, er, um, had a
few too many there before the Phish show.

I wouldn't call it a dive and I don't think the area is that bad.

There are some odd people that go there. One young woman who I'd never
seen before came up to me and called me a "mother f'ing son of a f'ing
b!tch and an a'hole". Then, 5 minutes later she came over and kissed

i spoke to Bruce last night... i had sent him some of the
"Bruce as a replacement for Jerry" stuff from here, which he
enjoyed immensely... :^) and while he appreciates everyone's kind
words, he's not exactly applying for the job...

he did ask me to mention that the Bruce Mandaro band will be at the
Horse, as was already mentioned, on saturday... friday they will also
be at the Wong in Holden... this time the BMB is a quartet... no
Buddy Cage... and they keyboard player is a past (current?) member of
the Candles (sorry... didn't catch the name)...

the BMB is also playing at the Plantation Club on Monday next week,
    opening for Mocha Java...

and, last but certainly not least, Dec 9th, a benefit at G'Willy's for
Abby's House for the Holidays... Abby's House is a resource for
homeless and/or battered women and thier families... the benefit is to
make sure that these folks have a nice holiday season like the rest of
us... toys, food, celebration etc... the benefit on the 9th will
also feature Cross the Water and Mocha Java...

so that's the news, and "hello" to everyone from Bruce...

HOW TO FIND THE TAMMANY CLUB

	by da ve

when giving directions, i have often found it quite useful to begin at
the beginning... for one thing, that's where most people EXPECT
you to begin... for another, i tend to get less confused that way...
and believe me, since i'm giving the directions, you don't want ME
to get confused... you'll be confused enough for both of us...

so, let us begin at the beginning...

in the beginning, there was nothing... only the void... and god
looked down upon the void, and she said, "this void is a real drag...
i really should do something about this... i mean, if i'm going to have
any fun at all as a benificent, but mischievious god, i have to have
SOMETHING down there to mess with..." and thus began the
story of creation... oh sure, i know you've heard OTHER stories
of creation, but since none of the authors, never mind yourself,
were even *present*, then how the hell would THEY know, and
how do YOU know that i don't know BETTER than what THEY
know??? hmmmm?????

so god, in her infinite wisdom, made lots of neat things that make no
real sense to anyone but her... and in amongst these things, was a
nutrient rich sea and a plethora of single celled organisms... one day
one of the single celled organisms, specifically an amoeba by the
name of Tammany, got stuck on a piece of flotsam in the middle of
this nutrient rich sea, and decided that it was a cool place to be...
Tammany then told all it's other amoeba pals (note the gender
nuetral terms... important when referrring to organisms that
reproduce asexually... important cuz their descendants are still
around and they tend to get really pissed when you refer to them
in other ways... and when they get pissed they take up residence
in your digestive tract and you REALLY don't want THAT to
happen, trust me) what a cool thing it was to hang out on the flotsam
in the noonday sun... one by one they all started to get the hang of it
and eventually there were thousands of these little critters digging
the rays on the flotsam... they mostly vegged out during the day, but
at night, things really hopped... they jumped into the sea and chowed
down on the free nutrients, drank up a storm, and then hung out some
more on the flotsam... the flotsam became known as "Tammany's
Club" and thus bagan the evolution of hot night spots in the world...
so while you may have known that all life sprang from the sea, i bet
you didn't know that all night life springs from Tammany and the
Club...

insert thousands of years of boring evolutionary stuff here... fast
forward to the present day... the Tammany Club has now evolved to
be the center of the entertainment universe, but true to it's origins
(as all great evolutionary miracles are still today) the club is still rich
in nutrients and joy inducing beverages.... the world has changed
much since Tammany's early days... the amoeba's have created a
new strain called humans, that were never satisfied with thier happy
lives in the sea... they insisted on building highways and byways
so that they would have an excuse for retreating to Tammany at
the close of the day, to make merry... silly humans... as if an excuse
is really necessary....

Tammany cares not however, and welcomes all with open arms...
however now, instead of swimming on up to the flotsam, you have
to find yor way through a maze of twisty turning passages to the
center of the entertainment universe so that you may boogie your
feet right down to your knees.... life forms desiring musical bliss
must first find Worcester... cultural mecca of cosmic bacteria...
creatures coming from northern mass and southern nh and other
areas up that a way, typically find it easiest to head down I495
to the I290 junction and proceed in a westerly direction into
Worcester... most tend to use motorized conveyances like an
automobile... from the Nashua area, it takes about an hour...
sigificantly longer if travelling on foot...

as you approach Worcester, you will come down a hill and pass over
a lake... it looks like a river but it's really a long, skinny lake...
if the water appears to move, making you think "come on da ve, i
KNOW this is a river" remind yourself that this motion of the water
is probably due to the large quantity of amoebas that reside in this
lake... see amoebas are heading back for Tammany to this day,
following some sort of genetic memory... unfortunately for them,
they never really developed much in the way of brains, so they get
easily distracted and their memories are driving them also towards
flotsam... close examination of the lake will teach you that there is a
significant quantity of flotsam inthe lake... dont go there... unlkess
you're a confused amoeba...

continue across the bridge and up a long hill into Worcester... you
probably already feel betting in anticipation of the bliss to come,
but dont get too excited yet... you still have a trip to finish...

you no doubt have noticed by now that there are several large green
signs hanging over the roadway... these may prove very helpful in
your quest... unless you are an amoeba, which due to it's
infinitessimally small brain, can not read... after you see signs
indicating the presence of I-190 you need to pay close attention
(dammit)... the first exit AFTER I-190 is the one you're looking for...
i believe the sign says "Lincoln Square"... so after the I-190 merge,
take the Lincoln Sq exit...

Stay to the right on this ramp! reason? you need to turn right at the
bottom... now here's the exciting part... as soon as you turn right, at
the bottom of the ramp, you need to scoot over to the LEFT...
reason? the road forks and you want to go to the left... got it? if you
navigate this successfully, you will come into Lincoln Sq, where you
will see, across and on the left, the scenic POLICE Station... across
and on the right is the Crown Plaze hotel... looking further right
you'll see the Auditorium (more scenic than the police station but i
don't want to be redundant in my descriptors) and a large war
memorial with a flag flying thre... assuming the lights (yes, there are
traffic lights here) are green, proceed forward across the
intersection heading towards the centrum... if the lights are red, i
suggest stopping... after all, you are right nesxt to the police station
(and the court house too actually... isn't THAT convenient?)...

if you did this correctly, you are now on Worcester Center Bvd
heading towards the Centrum... when you reach the Centrum, turn
right and head up to Main St... when you reach Main St, turn left
and start looking for Pleasant St (and all the other former amoeba's
heading towards their own personal nirvana) on the right... DO NOT
go up Pleasant St as it is one way... while yes, you are only capable
of going one way, in this case it would be the wrong way!... continue
past Pleasant St (which, despite it's name, is not all that pleasant to
look at) and take your next right on to Chatham (i think) St... then
turn right again, and right again onto Pleasant...

now you are going the proper way down Pleasant St... problem is,
there is only a hundred or so yards of Pleasant St to park on before
you are back on Main... so you will probably go all the way around
the block again... :^) not a problem, but if you want to save yourself
the trouble, there's a parking lot on the left corner, of Pleasant,
before you end up backin the ol' Pleasant St infinite loop... park there
and WALK (not like an amoeba, but more like a human) down to the
Tammany Club... where happy people ( and amoebas) are waiting for
you... with sustenance... :^)

so, the readers digest version...

495 to 290 to worcester...
get off on lincoln sq and go right at the bottom of the ramp...
stay left at the fork...
forward through all the lights down to the centrum...
right past the centrum...
left onto main st...
pass pleasant st and go around the block...
park... walk... eat... drink... be merry... curse da ve for these
directions... :^)

Well, maybe we will make it after all. But still a maybe. The conflict
with the Parent's visit will not be happening after all, as my folks
will not be visiting. When we got to the 75th birthday celebration
we found that the day before, while attempting a single leg trip from
Annapolis to Westchester, they ran into a bit of difficulty. About
a 1/2 hour or less from my brother's house, my father was distracted
(by a blonde, he joked) and hit a curb or something and blew out
one of his tires. So he stopped the car, and got out, and Mom did
too. Unfortunately this was during rush hour, on Rte 9, near the
Hudson, with no side to pull off onto, so they just stopped in the
middle of the road instead of limping to the closest exit. Obviously they
weren't killed or anything, but it was a bit disconcerting, and Dad
doesn't seem to let Mom drive very much, so they were convinced by my
brothers and sister-in-laws to head back home after they finished up
with my Mom's 50th college reunion. Sigh... Would have loved to have
them come up and see the house and hang out with the grandkids,
but I'd also rather they be alive to visit with!

So now, we're almost free on Saturday, with the exception of a b-day
party that Dan's been invited to at 2PM. Of course, nothing is
ever simple, and Dan is suffering from the Pox! Hopefully he'll be
over the infectious stage by Sat., but then Hannah hasn't had them
yet either...

Interesting times, sigh....

Apparently the vaccine was developed in the course of fighting childhood
cancer...the available treatments for cancer and leukemia left kids in
such a vulnerable state of health that they would die from *relatively*
mild childhood diseases, such as chicken pox.

The whole night, I believe - they knew better this time and must have
stocked on lots of Sam Adams.

I fulfilled a long-standing fanatasy and was able to hijack the PA system
(with da ve's help in convincing the soundman :-) during Slipknot's sets,
and play Bob Dylan & The Hawks (the Band), "Royal Albert Hall" (really was
Manchester), 5-17-66, electric set. People started boogieing!
Young girls who could be Bob's granddaughters were be-boppin' away!

This is the famous bootleg where someone in the audience yells out "Judas!"
just before Like A Rolling Stone, and Dylan replies "I don't believe you..
you're a LIAR!!...." and then off-mike to the band "Play f*ckin' loud!"

I wish I could play this totally 'lectric Dylan that loud at home. :-)

Start at Cheapo's. (with your back to it). You are facing
across Mass Ave and looking at the subway entrance.

Taking your nerve in your hands, you cross the street, glancing
warily to either side of you.

Now you turn left and walk down the sidewalk (towards, as it
were, Boston, with your back to Harvard Square). Um, maybe
you cross a street or two. You go by a bunch of stores.
Suddenly - there it is - on the corner! If you get to
the Salvation Army or the corner where Main St splits off,
you've gone too far. Another landmark, there's a chinese

These boys have gotta start playing bigger venues.

Tammany was nice, but crowded! Nice to see MJ there, but no room
    to dance, especially with a coupla hygiene-impaired neo-hippies (c'mon,
kids, tour is over. Take a bath)....

Johnny D's, too, was packed and too crowded to dance. I started
ragging Leo to find bigger places - he says they're working on doing a
CD release party at the Paradise, which would be an improvement...

I thought someone here said something about Johnny D's being smoke
free. Not. Stunk - but not as bad as the Tammany audience. ;-)

    Sigh. Maybe better next time...

Anyone have MJ's email address? She needs the new location of Grateful
    - said she couldn't get in here since the move...

well geeze Tim, how about the Somerville Theater? Big enuf for you? :-)
I agree about Tamany Hall being a real small place though. Its about the same,
or smaller, than the old Jonathan Swifts where I used to see Max Creek a lot.

I've seen Slipknot mentioned _twice_ in the Boston Globe Friday music
"Rock Notes" section, most recently this past Friday (about the Somerville
show I think).

I wonder if Max Creek, Slipknot, Jiggle the Handle, The Candles and

Somerville Theater has no dance floor, so I'm told.

Harper's is still the best, imho. Big floor, reasonable beers, late
hours - sh!tty parking, but one can't have everything at once, eh?

let's not leave out the often horrid sound that playing
in a cavernous barn like Harper's often gives.... blech...

may be a good hall for dancing in but it's far from being
my favorite venue...

there is not dance floor per se at the somerville theatre...
it's never really stopped people before though... :^) id' much
rather see them in a place like that...

as for all the dead bands getting together in a big place, that's
been bandied about from time to time... a nice idea but hard to
put together... fwiw, i think you will see some of that happening
on small scales over time, but maybe not with all the bands you
mentioned... not only is it logistically difficult, but there are
also egos to contend with... :^)

as always, imho... :^)

I just got this one. Sheesh, I'm slow lately.

The folks at the Tammany certainly could'a used them, but no such luck.
I'm not usually so picky but when you can literally smell someone
coming from 10 ft or more away, it's getting out of hand....and this
was BEFORE the serious dancing started.

I guess I'm getting old, but this was the first time I can remember
ever actually wishing someone would light up a nice, big, smelly
cigar...(or maybe take their glaucoma medicine...even better. ;-)

and in that particular case, even though they were zeroing in

I did the Linwood on Friday, and was pleased by two things that were
quite unusual for them: a.) A smaller than usual crowd, allowing enough
space to dance. The Linwood is usually packed. Could be the newly
raised $6 cover, or more competition in the area, I dunno...but it was
nice....and b.) Very early on, several very inebriated collegiate male
types were making themselves an obstacle right up front. This is
usually an omen of a long, unpleasant night, but much to my surprise,
the management tossed them before the end of the first set...very
unusual. All told, it was a nice time, and a well needed aerobic
    experience...

night...but not sooner. We'll see. SOS was soggy,
but SIS last year was fine.

Last time I brought a tent. It worked out quite
well, and I'll do so again this time.

just a short note about bringing in alcohol to SIS

    	PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bringing in alcohol puts the clubs liquor license at risk...
this is a cool place for us and the people that run it have been
very accomodating... if you remember the northboro fish and game
club, it's stuff like that that ruined that venue for this event...

the club let's slipknot use the property at a very low price...
they would have real problems putting on the show without them...
the only money the club makes on this event is the barbecue and the
    bar...

PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN ALCOHOL... PLEASE PATRONIZE YOUR HOSTS'
OPERATION AND HELP KEEP THIS A HAPPY HAPPENING....... the club
    needs your supprt too...

i am not a member of slipknot and i will not benefit from this event
in any way, shape, or form... having been a part of it since it's
inception though, as an attendee, performer, worker, and friend of the
band, i feel confident in speaking for the organizers in this...

please be cool and follow the rule...

on behalf of the boyz, thank you

cool show ! cool venue to - right down the street from my house !
convenient stroll over to a fishin hole, nice if you just wanted to
break away for awhile, maybe break out a sandwich or anything else
you might've brought in for a snack :)

would've been up for hiking tuckerman's yesterday (despite the fact
that it would've been the most crowded weekend of the year) but
after three shows in three days, with a hike on saturday, among other
things :) there wasn't a whole lotta gas in the legs (or maybe i'm
just gettin old)

fryday's percy hill show in andover was grate, got there to catch the
second set, where Dave Todd & Mike were already dancing up a storm ...
second set ripped ! cool venue, old town hall in andover, with the
windows open, it stayed nice & cool, perfect for dancin

saturday we hiked mount watatic in ashburnham, mass ... grate weather,
the bugs were out in full force, but the hike was well worth putting
up with the winged warriors ... clear views of mount wachusett and
southern NH/VT (they've torn down the old fire-watchtower that used
to be on top of mount watatic, probably due to safety hazard - many of
those old wooden stairs were starting to rot)

on to SIS - nice show ! got there late, slipknot was already jammin
and the crowd was in high spirits ! i thought they were a straight
dead-cover band, kinda blew my mind when they went into phish's
"ac/dc bag" ... seemed like they weren't really into it either, maybe
it was a request for a friend or something ... they kicked off the
second set with the Allman Brother's "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed"
and later played "One Way Out" ... outside of this, it was all Dead
covers, and they put on a grate show ! i'd post a setlist, but i'm
sure i'd screw it up, so i'll leave it to someone else ... for some
reason, i suffer from memory loss :)

sunday was grate - made our way up to portsmouth NH to catch a fine
Percy Hill & Strangefolk show in the Music Hall - a cool place to
catch a show, outside the fact that 1200 dancing fans can heat up
the place in a hurry - we musta lost ten pounds gettin sweaty ...
by the end of the show, we knew a hike up tuckerman's monday was
out of the question ...

monday was such a grate day - bikin, vball, frisbee, grillin, dug, :)

looks like rain saturday, but if there is a good weather day this
weekend, we'll try for tuckermans again ...

Hey guys,

I had a grate time at SIS this past w/end. It was cool seeing
Sloan and Debess again. I was hoping to see a few more of you out there,
but have only met some of you once and probably walked right by without
any recognition. Lame excuse. Going to be looking for more rages this summer
to get to know some of you a little more.

My friend Mike from New York was in town for Percy Hill shows this
w/end and was able to make it to SIS with us. He really enjoyed it and is
looking to come back for SOS(?). Anyone that couldn't have guessed that?

Three cheers for happenin' outdoor shows!!!

that fire tower came down in Dec '96 or so. most likely becuase
of its hazardous condition ! btw, the skiing on the back side (used
to be a ski area) is very good if you get enough snow. i skied it a
few times in '94-'95... cut fresh tracks through 3' along the treelines.

To0 bad Tom - I hate when that happens! The end of SIS was
a drag for me also -- my advice, is if you're going to have fun
come with people that are considerate (or come alone) and limit
dependencies on yourself. If not you could ruin your buzz (i hate
when that happens). I had 2 friends from out of town that wanted
to leave early and/or get stuff out of my car but could'nt because
another friend that rode with me disappeared with the keys for hours.
Rage. I did have fun until it got dark and had to spend most of
the second slip set scanning the grounds for my keys.

I had a totally *!excellent!* time all day long. The

Capt. Fejj was saying there were over 1200 people there!
	Cool!

It was wonderful seeing all the exDECheads, who I only
get to see maybe once or twice a year. Charlotte, Fog'n'Rach,
Slash, Reilly, Tina, Chris and Sparky, Rochelle, DC - and
all the new babies and not-babies-anymore! Really getting

I got there late - just after six, as 'knot was playin' "Deal".
We brought the total to over 1120, according to the guys at the
door, and I heard later that it was closer to 1400...not surprising.
Great crowd, though. Huge.

I didn't get to hang out with as many of the gang as I'd wanted to,
but next time I suppose I'll do better. I set a record of my own
on this one - brought five teenagers with me (two of mine, and
three of their friends) who all raved about the event...it was a bit
distracting, though... Just doing my part in contributing to the
delinquincy of minors. ;-) They had a blast - my daughter's
boyfriend is still thanking me...

ac/dc bag is Mark's idea (the kb player). Too bad they didn't
choose a better tune, imho - I've been needling Bruce to play
Possum for about two years now, but he's just not into Phish at all...
His usual response is very concise: "No." ;-)

The Paradise will be interesting next month....
