831.0. "Citrix Winframe 3.51, Wincenter Pro?" by NNTPD::"mooreadrian@mail.dec.com" (Adrian Moore) Tue May 27 1997 20:02

Hi,

A client reports that Citrix Winframe 3.51, Wincenter Pro disconnects all
mapped drives to cluster shares for other users of the Citrix box if one user
disconnects a drive mapping to a cluster share.

Clusters is 1.0, sp2 on 3.51 sp5.

This looks like it isn't supported... <- any thoughts on this statement?

Any thoughts on the problem?

Thanks & regards,
Adrian Moore

We have heard reports of this problem. It seems to be an
incompatibility between the Digital Clusters client redirector and the
Citrix software. We never tested Digital Clusters with Citrix
software, since Citrix uses a modified NT kernel.

If the systems that export the shares can be upgraded to NT 4.0, and
your systems use TCP/IP, then you can probably eliminate the need for
the Digital Clusters client redirector software on the systems running
the Citrix software (which can still run NT 3.51).

I know that sounds confusing, so here's the picture that we THINK will
    work:

    client workstation-----> NT 3.51 + Citrix ---->NT 4.0 + Digital
                                                            Clusters 1.1
                                                            SP1

That is, the NT 4.0 systems export the shares. "Middle tier" systems
running NT 3.51 + Citrix can mount shares using Netbios over TCP/IP
(NetBT). Client workstation displays a Citrix session.

We don't plan to support running the Digital Clusters client
redirector on NT servers that run Citrix server software.
