1463.0. "Wanted: MIDI C source" by DEALIN::NELSON () Thu Jun 16 1988 15:24

    In my wandering through the COMMUSIC notes I haven't found any
    references to CODE, e.g. C routines for sending patches or catching
    keystrokes real-time. I just received my Microsoft C 5.1 update
    for the PC, and I'm eager...

    So has anyone got any code out there? Do y'all remember any references
    to public domain sources?

    Thanks for any/all assists! - Hoyt

    I have some public domain code in C that drives an MPU-401. It
    is on a diskette at home. There are some other pascal drivers on
    Compuserve somewhere. I don't know how to get them to you.

    	There is a book entitled "C Programming for MIDI" by Jim Conger
    that would give you everything you need. There is a section on
    monitoring MIDI data, designing a basic sequencer, and writing a
    patch librarian. This book is tailored for both Microsoft and Turbo
    C. There is a source code disk that can be ordered for an additional
    $25. The book itself costs $22.95 . I purchased the book through
    B. Dalton Bookstore, I also saw it mentioned in the Voyetra newsletter.
    If you have any problems locating it, let me know and I'll pick
    one up and send it out to you.
