2729.0. "E M field affects on SGU components " by VMSSG::DICKINSON () Mon Sep 23 1991 15:57

    Part of my setup consist of a U220 and a Peavey librarian. The peavy
    has a 3.5" floppy. At present, the Peavey is sitting directly on top
    of the U220 (NO rack). As of late my U220 has been having intermitent
    problems such as:

    o While 'playing' the U220 with a sequencer, sometimes one of the
      audio output channels will just go away, and come back at some
      (random as far as I can tell) point later on. It's always the same
      audio output channel that exhibits this behavior.

    o Last night I noticed that I was hearing (at very low volume) what
      sounded like bleedthru from a rythm set I had not selected (electric
      set).

    I am concerned about this, and wonder if any stray Electro Magnetic effects
    from the motor for the Peavy floppy could be affecting any of the components
    of the U220 since the Peavey sits directly on top of the U220.

    Any ideas ?

    thanks,

    That is my next step. I was worried that permanent damage might have
    been done...I guess that's my real question.
