2664.0. "KORG A2" by KBOMFG::MARTINEK (Information Systems - KBO Germany) Mon Jun 17 1991 11:36

	Hi,

any experiences or sound setups on A2 ?

I'd like to buy one. Here in Germany it goes
for 1960.-DM the A2 and 440.-DM foot controller.
Just heard and played one in a music store.

What is the difference between A3 and A2 ?
Only memory? A2 has a 100 patch memory.

	Regards

		Wolfgang M.

Hi !

What do you expect, this thing is brand new. Yesterday I saw the first one in a
store. At the Musikmesse Frankfurt the demonstration couldn't be finished
because the guitar guy broke a string and since he had a locking trem (and no
other guitar to change to :-( ) they canceled the rest. So I just a ahort
impression and it seems that it's a bit more flexible, but sounds like an A3.

	best regards

The A2 is not brand new, at least not here. It's similar to the ART SGE in
that it allows for a number of effects including distortion to be chained
together. I heard one a few months back in a store here and it sounded pretty
much like a RECORDED guitar, not a live one, this was running it with a
guitar into a rivera tube head. The sound was good enough that I priced one and
decided to wait and see.

102 effects
97 effect chains (combinations)

compression
limiting
comp/lim (what's the diff?)
distortion
hard distortion
soft distortion
EQ
xciter
pitch shift
soft pitch/delay
speaker simulation
stereo chorus
stereo flange
auto pan
phase shifter
para eq
rotary speaker (leslie)
delay
reverbsm room, hall, plate, gate (various incarnations of each)
driver (??)
pan
wah
auto wah
early reflecction (?)
spacial reverb
stereo limiter
4 channel mixer

up to 6 effects at once

takes ram cards

has midi

lists $1299 US

that's about all I know

2664.4Bought one ....KBOMFG::MARTINEKInformation Systems - KBO GermanyFri Jun 21 1991 05:2817
	Hi,

first thank you guy's for all of your information.

Yesterday I went to a music store and bought one.
I connected the A2 directly to the mixing console of
the PA. The sound was great! I think you're right to
say "it sounds like a recorded guitar". O.K
But what does we want? Has the sound to be as good
as in the studio? For my opinion, I hear a recorded
sound and I decide to have the same. Isn't it?
And what's the difference between studio and live sound?
Mostly it's very difficult to have the same sound on stage
	as in the studio!

2664.5No A2 owners out there??KBOMFG::MARTINEKInformation Systems - KBO GermanyThu Jun 27 1991 05:328
On saturday I played my first gig with the A2.
(Not my first, but the frst with A2! :-) )
It sounds great!!! Great chorus, flanger, delay, reverb, ....

.... but even great distortion and compressor sounds.
Thats the thing that makes me happy!
