168.0. "I have the hardware in a Printe" by GRDIAN::DAVY () Thu Oct 24 1985 10:37

Steve (note 162.11) was reluctant to mention that there are plans and kits of
his box. He did tell me of this note and I am available for any one willing to
venture supply DEC associated personel to get these 8 prototypes and/or redesign
and improve. In return I want to continue to track any software/applications
of this type interface.

THE BOX:
	Steve Weirich's software , a Frank Reis PDP-11 music compiler and player
 based on the DECUS music compiler for DEC 10 (~). Also I will help demostrate
how to write simple code for most BASIC languages. I will say BASIC is usually
not the best choice but it allows simple, fundemental learning using LP: or
any I/O device to get results.

	I have been through the MIDI/RS-232 frustration for about two years
and may be able to give some insight into the delema. Also a software support
rep has a box and is trying to get a DX-7 on the rainbow.
WE (frank and I) are using RT-11, P/OS on 11/23 and IVIS/PRO-350 to run the
Roland Juno 106. Also Frank is workink with 2 Juno's in a multi part expantion
. He stated with some custom design Q-bus boards in early days of the software.
