    When I bought the GTO, the wiper motor was not hooked up, and the wires
    from the switch were cut off and stuffed up under the dash.  Since I
    had removed the motor to paint the firewall and I had removed the
    switch because it was falling out anyhow, I decided I should wire it
    all up on my bench and test it before reinstalling it.  When I did, I
    found that the switch was electrically open in any position.  I took it
    apart, fixed it, then tried again.  The motor and washer pump both work
    fine.  Now I have a question:  Where is the parking switch and how does
    it work?  The schematic shows a positive lead going dirrectly to the
    motor, the switch on the dash provides the ground connection when
    turned on.  However, when the switch is off, there is no ground
    connection whatsoever to the motor.  The motor itself is mounted on
    rubber grommets to isolate it from the firewall.  What completes the
    circuit through the parking switch???  Should there maybe be a ground
    jumper to the motor that is missing? (It wouldn't surprise me, half
    the car was missing).  The schematic doesn't show one, but something
    has to provide a path to ground, so it makes sense that there should be
    one.
