981.0. "Sheet help" by PIKES::BITTROLFF () Wed Oct 10 1990 22:56

    Greetings to all of you sheet users (?) out there.

    I just got Sheet V2.5. Sheet is a shareware spreadsheet product.
    I have seen sheet mentioned in here as a good PD spreadsheet, which is
    why I got it. It seems to have a problem that renders it unusable,
    however. Whenever I put anything into a cell, and scroll away from that
    page (ie. the information in the cell goes offscreen), and come back,
    that info is now displayed as double height. This obliterates the
    information in the cell underneath it. What I end up with is a lot of
    half characters (the bottom half being overwritten by the data in that
    cell), with the bottom line being double eight. The information in the
    actual cell is OK, if I move the cursor there and look, but the display
    is incorrect. Has any one else run into this problem?

    I have been through the manual, but it is not very organized and
    information is hard to find.

    Any help at all would be appreciated.

I've used sheet on occasion (on a monochrome monitor) and have not seen this
problem. I don't know what version I have.

    I run sheet20 on a colour monitor, I haven't seen the effect you
    describe.

981.4Maybe it's the PD version? PIKES::BITTROLFFFri Oct 12 1990 13:2710
Richard,

Do you have the PD version (mine's labelled either SHEETP25 or SHEET25P) or do
you have the supported (ie. you send in $25) version.

Maybe he uses this as an 'inducment' to send in the registration fee?

Or maybe it's just a bug... :^)

981.5UnRegistered V2.0 works okYNOTME::WALLACEFri Oct 12 1990 13:566
The version of SHEET I have is V2.0 as well. I use it on a monochrome monitor
with TOS 1.2 with no problems. This is not a registered version of sheet.

If you want to try out V2.0 I could upload it for you.
