1071.0. "Forget-Me-Clock II" by CSC32::M_VALENZA (My steed is playing.) Fri Feb 15 1991 15:58

    The February issue of ST Format magazine features an advertisement for
    the Forget-Me-Clock II cartridge for the ST. This cartridge sets the
    system time on cold start or reset, and also includes a cartridge pass
    through so that you can plug any other cartridge right into it while it
    is plugged in.

    Does anyone know if this product is available in the U.S.?

1071.1I have something very similarSALIDA::BITTROLFFMon Feb 18 1991 19:0912
Greetings,

I have something similar, although the name Forget-Me-Clock doesn't ring a bell.
Basically it plugs into the cartridge slot and does have a pass through. It
worked just fine as a clock, but I was never able to get the one cartridge
program I have to work with it.

In my case it has been superseded by my new hard drive and I no longer use it.
If you want it I'm located on the first floor at 1/Q11. Let me know and I'll
bring it in.

    I posted this query in comp.sys.atari.st, and received two mail
    messages. Toad Computers used to carry it, but when I called them they
    said they were currently out of stock (but were trying to order some
    more). Another person said that they got one for about $30 at Software
    Spectrum in New Jersey.

    I called Horizon Computers in Denver, and they said they had not even
    heard of it.

    I've just received one of these as well. Unfortunately I can't say how
    well it works yet as the disk with the sw for setting the thing up was
    blank!! I phoned Frontier and they're sending me another.

    I can confirm, however, that the C-Lab Notator dongle works with the
    forget-me-clock cartridge in place (although the clock is stopped, but
    I wouldn't have thought that would make any difference).

    One thing I wonder about is the battery - it's soldered in within the
    unit and definitely not designed to be user-changable. It doesn't say
    whether it's rechargable or if you're supposed to throw the whole thing
    away when it runs down.

1071.6Well it seems to work...RUTILE::BISHOPMon Jun 03 1991 11:5013
    I just recieved VIDI-ST, VIDICHROME, and VIDI-RGB and these seem to
    work just fine through the FMC2...

    I didn't look closely at the battery, i'll have a look tonight, but
    i'm sure when i had a quick peek it seemed to be held in place by a
    clip... i'll have another look...

    Oh, how did you find Frontier??? In my opinion they're very
    professional and friendly..

    Yes, no problem about the replacement disk once they verified I was a
    registered user. (mind you I wouldn't expect them to quibble over a 25p
    disk!)

1071.8Which Clock To Get?RGB::ROSTAshley Hutchings wannabeTue Jan 21 1992 19:296
    I'm thinking of adding a clock to my 1040 and since Toad sells both
    Forget-me-clock II and the ST/Time for the same price ($49), I'm up in the
    air about which to get. The need to install the ST/Time is a non-issue
    for me. Opinions one way or the other?

1071.9How about the Magic Sac?AIDEV::MISKINISWed Jan 22 1992 18:008
Hi Brian,

	For that price you should be able to get a Magic-Sac Plus, which
	in addition to a clock, will offer you some MAC compatibilty.
	This originally sold for almost $200 with ROMS (I think), I
	got mine within a package deal on a used ST system...
