1393.0. "Walnut Creek 'Gemini' Atari CD ROM disk" by FAILTE::ROBSONB () Wed Jan 12 1994 08:06

Walnut Creek are releasing a CD ROM disk, called
"Gemini Atari CD", according to some information I
    found on CompuServe.

Apparently Walnut Creek is one of the largest distributers
of PC CD roms, and this is their first Atari disk. The disk
contains PD, Shareware and commercial demos of Atari ST applications,
a large selection of electronic magazines, and also includes a
photo CD desktop application for the Falcon and a MultiTos Ready
XFS driver that will read both Photo CD and standard CD Roms.
Drives supported, according to the info. file, include the
    Toshiba 3401, NEC-38, NEC-55, NEC-74 and NEC-84.
All programs on the CD ROM disk are compressed in ZIP or LZH
formats - 3,331 compressed files with an actual program count of
2,872 programs in approximately 40,000 files that total 612MB in
    size.
The price of the CD ROM disk is $39.95 - looks like excellent
value IMHO, and possibly worth investing in a CD ROM drive?

    Best Regards,
    Brian

I got my GEMini CD yesterday. About 450 MB uncompressed, ready to start
off the CD software, and the same in compressed format in about another
    150 MB.
The dates of the software ranges from 1987 to mid 1993, a lot of it is
of German origin. Very good is the large amount of truetype fonts for
e.g. Calamus and others as well as tools for almost every purpose.

I paid 58.- DM here in Germany.
