1169.0. "Where can a power supply be bought?" by POWDML::STEIL () Wed Sep 04 1991 00:58

    The power supply to my two Syquest hard disks quit.

    I don't even know what I'm supposed to do tomorrow, since I can't get
    at my calendar!

    Can someone tell me where I can buy an external power supply in the
    Greater Maynard Area, tomorrow?!

    I need 5 volts at 15 amps and 12 volts at 6 amps, minimum.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Nearest place I know of is U-Do-It Electronics in Needham.

1169.3Use clone partsPRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeffrey A. LomickaFri Sep 06 1991 15:215
Pretty high priced alternatives!

Go to Unitech or any other computer PARTS store, and get the power
supply for an XT clone. Watch the 12 volt rating, 15 A of +5 is no big
deal, but the 6A of +12 might be hard to find.
1169.4Thanks for the helpPOWDML::STEILSat Sep 07 1991 19:5715
    Thanks for the help.

    I looked at a few power supplies at Active in Woburn, and then
    remembered that UPS could deliver cross country in 24 hours.

    So I called up Carter Graphics in Washington, Utah, who had sold me the
    dual Syquest unit, and I had a replacement the next day, no charge!

    By the way, the replacement unit was a different manufacturer, so
    there may have been others with my problem...

    Anyway, thanks for the help.
