787.0. "Our Little Computer People (LCP's) are out of control" by OLDTMR::WALLACE () Wed Feb 28 1990 20:18

Does anyone have (or ever had) a program called "Little Computer People"? If
so I (and my kids :-) would be very interested in finding out what kinds of
commands you were succesfully able to give your LCP.

I just got the program for my kids and it seems like a realy great concept.
Unfortunatley we have not been able to do much more than sit and watch the
little guy roam about the house. The controll key's work fine but the only
verbal (ok, typed) commands it seems to respond to are "Type me a letter" and
"Play the organ".

My kids have been getting up an hour early in the morning this past week just
so they can see if they can make their LCP do something. Alas to no avail.

Any help at all on this program would be VERY VERY appreciated.

  Thanks,

	Ray (and kids :-)

You mean you've never told him to eat !

He'll die in there you know (I'm not kidding either, in the C64
version, he'll start tapping 'on the glass' to be fed. Eventually
he'll die and a new LCP will move in !)

Sorry, I don't own it myself and was only given a demo, but you've
got to find some way of feeding him !
787.2Food is one of the control key commands from the docsOLDTMR::WALLACEThu Mar 01 1990 12:4123
Keeping stocked with food and water is easy, they are both control key
commands. All of the control key commands work fine.

Actualy, just to try and get him to do something my kids have tried to starve
the poor fellow as well as let him go without water. Both of these are suppose
to make the LCP get a frown and eventualy turn green and lie sick in bed. But
even after hours of going without food and water the LCP is still smiling
away.

We have figured out a few written commands that work -
	Type me a letter.
Play with your computer (he likes to run graphics demos).
Play the piano (the Star Spangled Banner is his favorite piece).
	Go brush your teeth.
Light a fire (he is kind enough to start it in the fireplace :-).

For as little control they have over the program I am supprised at how much
time my kids spend whatching there little computer person going about normal
every day activities in his three story house.

Hope there are others with information on this program.
