523.0. "DTP with Atari" by STKAI2::HLUNDMARK () Sun Jul 02 1989 06:27

    Hello,

    Mainly using my Atari 1040, SH205 and NEC 2200 printer for
    wordprocessing, I am attempted to try DTP. Can somebody out
    there give some inputs regarding DTP, to a newcomer ?

    Regards,

523.1try to find Pub. PartnerEUCLID::PAULHUSChris @ MLO6B-2/T13 dtn 223-6871Wed Jul 05 1989 15:598
    	For a beginning DTP person, I'd recommend trying to find an
    old copy of Publishing Partner for way under $50. It is useful
    and will get you started in DTP. You can also trade up to Pagestream
    from it cheaper than buying Pagestream direct. PubPart had fewer
    bugs and missing features than Pagestream currently has, but many
    of the capabilities. Calmus is nice, still lacks some needed features
    and is expensive. If they get it straightened out, it might become
    the best package.  - Chris
523.2I use Timeworks PublisherZONULE::STEILTue Jul 11 1989 03:1010
    I've been using Timeworks Publisher.

    It makes nice looking slides and text.

    It has very few bugs.

    I've seen it advertised for under $50.
