2157.0. "Fender Vibra Champ Amp" by GSRC::COOPER (Major MIDI Rack Puke (tm)) Thu Mar 28 1991 03:18

    Help !!

I got a deal on a matching pair of Fender "Vibra Champ Amps".

They are both in perfect operating condition and cosmetically
pleasing ot the eye (hardly a scratch). Bought them from an old
    man (60+). To quote him "I ain't touched 'em in 25 ye'as..."

The Tremolo circuits are foot switchable. The controls are:

Volume, Bass, Treble, Speed, and Intensity.

    S/N's A10080 and A00798

They both have (2) 6V6's and (2) 12AX7's. They are both marked
    1964 with a patent #.

Can anyone date these and estimate their worth ??

    Thanks,

    jc

I'd say they are worth anywhere between $150.00 and $300.00
a piece depending on their condition...$300.00 being the max
city super freak fender amp collectable price.

I doubt it. I've seen no less than three in pawn shops in good to perfect shape
asking only $100. I asked and he said I could have one for $60.

I didn't have it at the time or would have bought one.

They float around a fair bit.

It's a 4 or 5 watt amp with 2 12AX7s, a 5Y3 or 5U3 and a 6V6 (the black-face
ones). Half of one of the 12AX7s is used for Vibrato. They have 8" speakers
and get a pretty decent power amp overdrive when cranked.

These are black faces. Mid 60's. They are in mint shape - as in
    showroom...

FYI - Both Vibro-Champs are gone. I'm gonna miss 'em too.
They looked so *cute* sittin' on my rack next to my marshall...
Please send all buy/trade offers to the proud new owner, Will
    Collum. ;)

BTW - Learned how to date Fender amps from a birthday present from
Greg; a book called "American Guitars". Cool book. I'll type the
article in tonight if I get a chance...
