44.0. "Any good music stores in the Mass. area?" by FROST::SIMON (Gary Simon - BTO Quality Engineering) Fri Sep 05 1986 18:30

I'm going to be down in the Mass. area for a couple of weeks coming up.
I was wondering if there are some good stores down in that area where
I might go looking for guitar related stuff (strings, accessories, etc.)
Being from Vermont, we have a limited variety of stores to find the like.
I thought this may be a good opportunity to check out a few things.

I'll be in the Marlboro area, but travelling around is really no problem.

Any suggestions?

If you're looking for "collectable" guitars try Mr. C's, main street,
Marlboro. Prices aren't great but Mr C. has some real wild oddities
    in his shop.

Macduff's next to Spag's is great. A buddy of mine is getting
the next cabinet for his LANEY there so he'll have a complete stack.
The head went for about a $999.00 and he got for less tham half
    with the 4 - 12 cab.

       Good deals for guitarists.

Pete (not a guitarist but putting my 2cents
    in)

If there is a Bettencourt Music in downtown Hudson it must be some
relation of Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme. One of the few things
I know about him is that he went to Hudson HS.

    Anybody know the connection?

Yeah, it's simple. It's his families business, run by Nuno's dad.
If you go in, you'll see tons of the Nuno Washburn guitars (aack)
and you can listen to Nuno's dad chew your ear off...what fun!
