Just got my first electric guitar, and I'd like to know if anyone out
there can give me any background - it's an Ibanez PF100. Appears to be
a straight Les Paul copy, with the same pickups etc. Mine has a really
nice tobacco sunburst finish. The guy I got it off bought it new in
early 1981. He never played it, so it is in brand new condition, I mean
new ! It don't have a mark on it ! It cost me $300Aust (about $225US),
and he chucked in a funky old amp, leads, pedals etc - Did I get a deal
or what ?
I found the guitar in the paper, and met the guy at an auto repair shop
(where he was having his car fixed). I set up the guitar and amp in the
middle of the workshop and started jamming some 12 bar. Before I knew
it, all these greasy mechanic types were dancing around singing and
banging spanners etc. The guitar felt great, and I was able to get just
the right raw and bluesy tones out of it.
All this seemed to add up to a cosmic "rightness", so after weeks of
checking out strat copies etc, I got one out of left field !
Anyone know anything about these guitars ?
Jeff.
