873.0. "Musiclord Amplification (Marshall clones?)" by ERASER::BUCKLEY (Take me down to Paradise City) Thu Sep 29 1988 12:37

I went and saw Queensryche last night at the Centrum. Both guitarists
had really great guitar sounds, fortunately I had seats right on
the stage with the guitar racks to my side. They had some marshall
tops in there, as well as an ADA MP-1 which frmo the number on the
display seemed like they used it for the clean settings. However,
the main amps in the rack seemed to be an amp call Musiclord. It
looked cosmetically VERY similar to the really old marshalls. The
speaker cabs the band were using onstage were also Musiclord, which
again looked and sounded like vintage Marshalls.

It was hard to tell if:

    1) Musiclord is its own company
    2) Marshall equipment with a different logo on the hardware
    3) Custom made stuff

    Anyone ever heard of Musiclord???

    Buck

Was "Musiclord" written in script to look like "Marshall" from a
distance (al la Tokai's infamous "Love Rock" Les Paul copies)?

    Yeah, its was, sorta.

It was very english looking, and from a distance it looked like
a marshall logo, but you could tell it had more letters in it
    and they were closer together.

    Hmmm

A little info on MusicLord. The guy who built my cabs knows
"Mr. Music Lord". He's from Seattle (is this making sense now ?
    - Queensryche is from Seattle), builds custom heads and cabs. Also
does Bradshaw-clone rigs. The amps are based off of Marshalls, but
are highly modified. It's a very small shop, which makes me believe
that his stuff is most likely VERY costly.

I can try to get his number. If anyone cares, I'll post it.
