2652.0. "HPGL to PostScript" by LEDS::ACCIARDI () Sat Jun 17 1989 02:02

    I found a conversion program that takes HPGL plotter files and converts
    them to PostScript. This is handy for users of Aegis Draw 2000,
    X-Cad and other programs that can output HPGL files.

    Since I couldn't connect to NORSE, I've temporarily enabled w:re
    access to LEDS3::USER6:[ACCIARDI.AMIGA]. This file is called
    HPGL2PS.ARC and is in STREAM_LF format for Xmodem downloading.

    Let me know if this works for you; I can't seem to find my X-Cad
    dongle, so I haven't tried it yet.

    Ed.

2652.2I'll give it a whirlHPSCAD::GATULISFrank GatulisSat Jun 17 1989 23:5510
    This is my lucky day. HPGL to postscript is the other thing I've
    been after. Exactly for Draw 2000. I take it this runs on the
    Amiga and does the conversion?

    I did manage to come up with 2 which run on the VAX. I've not tried
    either but I'd be happy to make them available to any one that wants
    them.

2652.3No luck yet with DRAW2000 plotsHPSCAD::GATULISFrank GatulisMon Jun 19 1989 13:4216

    So far i've not been able to make the HPGL2PS process work for me.

    I took a simple plot from DRAW2000 and ran the conversion on it.
    Got lots messages out of the conversion program complaining about
    "NOT an HPGL command" or something to that effect. Yet the program
    DID produce a postscript file with some data in it.

    Uploaded the postscript file and sent it to the LPS40 and got nothing
    but the title page.

    Don't have any idea what's wrong and I don't have time to look at
    it at the moment. If I figure it out, I'll post the results.

    I have tried the DRAW2000 HPGL file and had the same result as Frank
    (.-1). In looking at the PS file it would appear that the MOVETO
    command is missing to set the initial point (as in Pen Up in HPGL). I
    guess that we would have to obtain the original sources to the program
    to determine what it is looking for in the HPGL code.
