1866.0. "I crossed the pond and ..." by CESARE::ZABOT (Marco Zabot-Adv.Tech.mgr-Turin ACT) Thu Nov 10 1988 14:13

    Few days ago I was in Nashua , at System Eyes. I was so lucky to
    get a copy of WB 1.3.
    They (the owners) are really nice fellows , so please , don't
    misunderstand what I'm going to say.
    I also boght a copy of AMIGA SPELL , a PD disk , for 5$ ( I'm sure
    it's available on some repository, but you know, it was hanging
    on the wall , saying .. buy me, buy me ... what could I do ?

    Well, days later back home, I slept it into Amiga and ...
		    Not a DOS disk !!
    I'm almost sure that they have mixed a not-formatted disk with the
    others .. so please let them know that that may happen.

    Anyway , I've decided not to run to them to have it replaced.
    ( I swim too slowly )
    Ciao.

    PS. They have very nice Amiga T-shirts !

    Amiga T-shirts? You mean everyone here doesn't already have one?
    You guys must feel naked.

    Ed-who wouldn't go out in the summer without his Amiga baseball
    cap and sweatshirt.

    I got mine in late 1985, after I paid list price for an A1000.

    Commodore commisioned some trendy outfit to provide Amiga hats,
    coats, sweatshirts, t-shirts, briefcases, sunglasses, towels,
    duffelbags, you get the picture. I had received a glossy 16 page
    brochure showing the Well Dressed Amigan and an order form.

    Try Go Amiga in Amigaworld.

    SYSTEM EYE'S also has AMIGA ash trays....but I don't smoke.On a
    more serious note it is nice to have a place to pick up the various
    magazines and such.The carry AMnews,and have picked up Amiga Times?
    I think that is the name.It is a regular mag but contains a disk.I
    like this better than AMnews and it is 1/2 the price
    								bill
1866.5How about a $32.00 Trashcan iconDPDMAI::ANDERSONASat Nov 12 1988 00:089
    Don't feel to bad I just paid $32.00 for a comercial program and
    when I tried to boot it it wouldn't. Reboting my standard disk
    and doing a dir showed a trashcan.info and dir and nothing else.
    Of course it was mail order and the mail order company had to get
    it back before he would send me another. $32.00 dollars for a new
    trashcan icon is a little steep. It wasn't evan the new type from 1.3.

1866.6YEP! it happensHPSCAD::GATULISFrank GatulisMon Nov 14 1988 15:117
    Yes! it does happen. I bout Excellence! at about $200 and the
    workbench disk was fine but the Excellence! disk was blank.
    The guys at the memory location merely copied it over for me.
    They tell me this happens more often than you or I would like
    to believe.
