1807.0. "Dragon's Lair" by LEDS::ACCIARDI (Dukakis should pluck his eyebrows) Mon Oct 24 1988 12:07

While at the Software Shop on Saturday, I saw a small demo disk
of Dragon's Lair. Remember the first laser-disk based arcade game?
I must have dumped a zillion quarters into that machine.

Without going into too much detail, I'll just say that watching
this demo was just like standing in front of the original arcade
version. The animation is perfectly smooth and as fast as the
original. It's like watching a cartoon.

Dragon's Lair comes on 6 floppies(!) and is due RSN.

I've heard that this game is going to require 1 meg minimum to run,
1.5 meg for the full audio effects. I've yet to see the demo

I saw the demo at System Eyes in Merrimack, NH, on Saturday. The
graphics and sound seem too good to be true. I suspect that the
real game's graphics and sound won't be that good (though I'd be
happy to be wrong). I was told that the demo takes more memory
to run than the game will take, for what it's worth.

I wonder if it will be continuous smooth animation, or just bursts (ala
Cinamaware style)?

I don't know about the 1.5 meg but you need at least a meg to run
the game. I saw the demo Saturday at Compusoft in Kalamazoo, MI.
    and it looks real good!!!

ahh.... is that demo disk available for copying or is it just a
    dealer only demo?

it sounds like a "killer" demo to me.

I say the demo at the memory location and Roy was not sure if the
demo was dealer only and therefore would not give me a copy. He
said he'd try and find out and would be happy to give a copy if
    it's legit.
