2636.0. "A Brand New Digitizer" by PNO::BLACKJ () Fri Jun 09 1989 21:13

    Hi, I finally bought a digitzer for my AMIGA 1000 and I need help
    on types of digitizing technics. I have digiview 2.0 and a panasonic
    b&w video camera. Specifically the problem I am having is that whenever
    I digitize something it always seems to have some vertical streaks
    in it. I've tried adjusting the tracking menu and though it reduces
    the amount of these streaks it doesn't rid my images from them.
    What am I doing wrong ? Is it the lighting or my equipment. I want
    to be able to capture images like the ones in the ads and demos
    I've seen. I hope I didn't buy the wrong stuff.

     thanks in advance.......

2636.1Set the Interlace SwitchDICKNS::MACDONALDWA1OMM 7.093/145.05/223.58 AX.25Sun Jun 11 1989 17:439
    Sounds like you didn't set the interlace switch inside the 1410.
    That camera comes factory set NOT to work correctly with DigiView.
    Open the camera and set the switch. There's only one switch inside
    so you shouldn't have any difficulty locating it. Be cautious though
    - there is high voltage inside so unplug the camera and wait a few
    minutes before opening it.

    I've had a "Digiview Gold" for my A500 for a while, and I use a
    black and white sony camera for Capturing pictures.
      Although the quality is good, my pictures often look grainy.
      I've tried the various controls without any luck.
     ie- Lowering sharpness loses contrast....increasing contrast raises
    grainyness (sp?), and so on.
      For the life of me I can't seem to get pictures like those demos
    (smooth, with good definition).
    	Any experts out there?
     							ED.
     P.S.- Do these board accellerators (Sp? again) have any affect
    on this package?
    	Not that I have one, but I am curious.

2636.3DIGIVIEW AND FAT AGNUSDICKNS::MACDONALDWA1OMM 7.093/145.05/223.58 AX.25Wed Jun 14 1989 12:407
    I've noticed that DigiView V3.0 does not recognize the additional
    memory of the Fat Agnus. A simple experiment to try is running DV
    twice. You'll find the second copy won't boot. The code must do
    an automatic memory check based upon how much chip mem has been
    used, rather than how much chip mem remains.

    Thanks alot that seems to have solved the problem. I have gotten
    some pretty good pictures since I set the interlace switch. Now
    only if I had a color laser printer ( $$$$$$ ). However I have a
    HP Deskjet Plus and it gives very good b/w printouts. Any body have
    a driver for the plus?
