3654.0. "BASIC isn't always basic!" by PGG::MYERS () Fri Apr 06 1990 13:23

    I just got a copy of the Fred Fish disc #28 which has a few games
    written in BASIC (backgammon, cribbage, othello...). The problem that
    I'm having is that these games do not work with the Amiga BASIC that
    came with my A500 (Extras floppy).

    In his installation directions the author refers to AbasiC which is on
    his Extras floppy. This is aparently an earlier version of Amiga
    BASIC, since these programs were written in 1986. For example, his
    program uses fewer parameters in the SCREEN function. He is also using
    undefined functions like DRAWMODE.

    If anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it.

          Thanks,
              Eric

3654.1Some PD disks have complete draws.NAVIER::MELLITZFri Apr 06 1990 21:016
    I've got these to work on a A2000HD wb 1.3. I just copied the whole
    draw from the AMIGA+ and PD disks I have to the HD.

3654.2 Only with V1.0SNOC01::GADSBYCHRISMon Apr 09 1990 02:302
    AbasiC was only supplied with V1.0 of AmigaDos. Amiga BASIC replaced it
    in V1.1

    So what you are saying is that I'm S.O.L. with this programs?
    Oh well, at least it didn't cost me anything.

    Hi,

    	I went through this ... See my note about Monopoly...

    Basicly (No pun intended..) you have to get Abasic from JumpDisk
    I believe...
