3520.0. "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" by MQOFS::LEDOUX (Reserved for Future Use) Fri Feb 23 1990 17:21

I would like to start a topic on:
LucasFilm Game "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade".

It is an adventure type game where you have to look for
things and clue , and use them to keep going. (Mouse
     operated.)

Few objects are really well hiden. Unlike some arcade
games, you have to use you brain a little.

If any one is (had) played the game, I would use a tip
to keep on going. I am stuck on the "third" level
     of the Venician catacomb.
I.e., after finding the 2nd Level, I got the water off
the pool and got in the 3rd, where there are 3 statues
that rotates. I assume a combinaison should open the
wooden door beside, but I beleive I tried all 64 combi-
naison without finding the right one.

Also: what is the use of the machine in the room beside?

The "Henry Jones Grail manual" talks about it but gives
     no apparent clue.

     Any help appreciated, Vince.

3520.1I'm stuck too!BAHTAT::RIGBYDave Rigby (7)845 2115Tue Feb 27 1990 15:5219
I'm currently playing this game on the ST (Boo! Hiss!) and I'm also
stuck in the Catacombs. (very nasty that)

I've found the tomb, but am separated from it by a grating, which try
as I might I can't budge - anyone got any ideas on how to shift/go
round it ? The objects which I have available are - whip, Grail diary,
    red cordon & the hook.

I've found the pool that you mentioned Vince (how did you drain the
water?) and if memory serves there are some statues around the tomb,
so you seem to have taken a different approach to me.

All the above assumes that the ST & Amiga versions are similar. It's an
    excellent (if frustrating) game anyway.

I have made it further and completed de catacomb.
Now I am stuck in the german castle.

One told me that it would be easyer if I would've seen the movie.

According to your list of equipment, you are missing quite a few
objects. You will not be able to complete the catacomb without some
    of them.

    Spoiler follows:

You are missing: Mein Kampf (book by Hilter, 1st edition)
Book of Map of the catacomb (although quite useless)
Manual "how to fly a biplane"
Old book (Indiana child copy of his father's grail book)
Painting (child copy of a cup that his father won)
Small key (from sticky tape, here is another spoiler)
    		     Wine bottle.

    More spoilers:

    How to drain the water:
Get the wine bottle, fill it up in the pool of water.
Wet the mud around the torch.
Pull or push on the torch.

    Again some more spoiler?:

Go to the room where there is a wooden plug,
    	Screw the hook.
Use the whip on the hook.
Go back upstair, the water will be gone...

    Some more?

I found the solution on my question in .0,
There is only 2 solutions with the 3 statues:
the first one will open a trap under your feet and you
will find yourself ("upstair"?), near the manhole.
        How can you "fall" upstair???.
The other combinaison will open the door beside the statues
and allow you to go further...

I am running 2 games concurently and both games do NOT use the
same combinaison, so it seems that every game is different.

Again some more, common, give it a try...

You need the red cordon on the machine to lower the bridge that
you will find after the statues.

3520.3Anyone for Indy: The Action Game?NITMOI::WITHERSAnother Hallmark Moment. -Al BundyWed Mar 14 1990 13:5612
Anybody playing the "The Action Game"? I have this and am stuck
on (hate to admit it) the first section (The Cross of Coranada).
I have explored everywhere I can see and can't get to the daylight
or to the level with the Cross on it.

BTW, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Action Game..is pretty
good. The graphics are nice. Game play is a simple, walk through
the maze, jump on ropes, whip/punch bad guys and find/escape-with
items (starting with the Cross of Coranda, ending with the Holy Grail).

3520.4Getting to the Cross of CoranadaREDBCK::paulprust never sleepsMon Jun 25 1990 00:5238
Yup, we nearly threw the game out until...(see spoiler below)
I rather like arcade style games, my only complaint is that in
this one it looked to me as if the author ran out of ideas in
the last section (where you actually grab the grail). The
	flaming rats etc are neat.

	 (Spoiler follows)

There are two places in the 'Cross of Corananda' where you must
scale ropes that have bad guys swarming up and down them. The first
is across the river (there are 3 ropes) and the second is somewhat
later with only one rope. It is after you have passed beneath the
cross (but couldn't reach it). Up this second rope about halfway
you can jump right (the obvious path is left at the top). Following
this path will get you eventually down to the cross.
3520.5Still no Cross!NITMOI::WITHERSAnother Hallmark Moment. -Al BundyMon Jun 25 1990 15:2524
RE: .4

I practically threw it away too but can't follow your instructions
on getting the cross.. just-in-case, spoilers to follow

Anyway, after climbing the rope with the climing guy and jumping over to the
passage, I can't make it by as the ceiling is low and there is something to
jump, ie.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
            XXXXXXXXX

        (me)XXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I walk forward and hit the bottom rock; I jump up and hit my head on the
upper rocks! Arrgghh! BTW, I *almost* did get rid of this; was going to
sell it (consignment) but I forgot to bring it with me on my last purchase
spree.

Thanks for any help,
George
