There is a product called AMAX that not only let's you use the MAC drive (As a
MAC drive, and not an Amiga drive), but gives you good MAC emulation as well.

A product called Mac 2 Dos comes with a hardware converter that
plugs into the drive port on the Amiga. If you hook a mac drive up
    you can read,write,format 400k,and 800k floppies.Another product
on the market ami-atosh is a drive with the converter built into
it.I have not used any of these products yet.I plan to get Mac 2
    Dos in about a week.

The conversion for Amax is handled by the Amax module, and I believe
it requires a standard drive. I am going to go to my dealer and
see if the ami-atosh is compatable with Mac 2 Dos without the Mac2Dos
module plugged into the Amiga. If it is it will make a much neater
application.I believe that Mac 2 Dos also requires a mac drive. It
all depends on how the Ami-tosh drive is set up.It may well be that
this drive is only a mac compatable that can also read, write amiga
disk.I hope to try one soon,at least before I decide on the setup
    I want.

From what I remember reading about the Ami-tosh drive, it's just a Mac
drive with the equivalent of AMAX hardware (sockets for Mac ROMS). Its
advantage is that you don't have to plug in the AMAX box which is quite
long and sticks straight out behind the Amiga system box.

Be careful, from what I have read, there a 2 different units. The
Amiga-tosh is just a Mac style drive. The Amiga-tosh Plus is a Mac
style drive with sockets for Mac roms, there-fore the AMAX hardware
module is not needed. The AMAX hardware is a problem because it sticks
straight out ~6 in. from the back of a 2000. The Amiga-tosh Plus has a
    flexible cable.
