3078.0. "Mini database wanted." by SUBSYS::BUSCH (Dave Busch, NKS1-2/H6) Mon Nov 06 1989 19:04

I would like to have a program which will allow me to catalogue photographs in a
collection of books I have. What I would like the program to be able to do is:

For each photograph I would like to create a multi-field record containing the
following fields:

	1. Book title and author, etc
	2. Page number of photo
	3. Brief verbal description of photo
	4. Keywords (as many as 5 or 10) to be used to search/sort photos.

I would like to be able to enter one or more keywords and have the program
display/print a list of all the photos which match the entered list of keywords.
I would also like to be able to dump the entire list in sorted order,
add/modify/delete entries, etc.

I don't think that I need a full blown database program since this seems to me
to be a (nearly) trivial job. Are there any PD or shareware programs available
that will satisfy my requirements?

Dave

3078.2I-Man is temporarily available in my account...LEDS::ACCIARDIThu Nov 09 1989 02:4914

    I-Man is a shareware home inventory program that recently appeared on
    Plink. Since I was unable to connect to NORSE, I will temporarily
    allow access to my account on

    LEDS::USER6:[ACCIARDI.AMIGA]I-MAN.ZOO

    Please restrict access to after-hour times. I will only keep the file
    here for a few days, then it's off to a more permanant site like NORSE.

    By the way, I really haven't played with I-Man, other than a quick
    peek. Let us know how it works.

Has anyone used 'Hyperbase' from FF #131?
When I run it, the 68000 performance meter pegs busy!
What is this program doing, spinning in a busy-wait waiting for
user input??
