1135.0. "A-Render" by DECEAT::LANDINGHAM () Thu Feb 04 1988 20:55

    Anyone have A-Render? Any problems with it? DEFINE crashes my
    1000. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

1135.1It's in there..ELWOOD::PETERSThu Feb 04 1988 21:1411

    	A-render is on Fred Fish disk 99. It can be found at

    		MVCAD3::user0:[Amiga.FF99]arend.arc

    		Steve Peters

    P.S. instuction to unpack the arc are in MVCAD3::USER0:[Amiga]

1135.2Already have it, but...DECEAT::LANDINGHAMFri Feb 05 1988 11:5514
    Yup, that's where I got it. I downloaded it, used the "two_drive"
    script to make Master and User disks. The script failed near its
    end because "startup-sequence" seemed to be missing from the archive.
    At this point I assumed that the proper way to run it was to have
    the <User Disk> in drive df0: and the <Master Disk> (containing
    the executables) in df1:. I carefully followed the installation
    and tutorial texts, and had no problems until I tried to use DEFINE.
    After some experimentation I found that if I invoke DEFINE without
    any argument it prints a usage message and then returns. If I repeat
    the DEFINE command with no args I get the GURU. I've tried using
    a larger stack size (up to 16K) without success.

      I am wondering if anyone else has acquired A-Render and have run
    into similar problems.  Thanks, all!
1135.3Try installing it again.AYOV10::ATHOMSONEqual RitesFri Feb 05 1988 12:1221
    I have A-render from Fish #99 and define works ok. The only differences
    are that I had to use the single drive installation procedure and
    the <master disk> I started with was straight from a Fish library
    and not downloaded from anywhere.

    It might be a problem with the dual drive installation procedure
    so you could try creating another <user disk> using the single drive
    process.

    Hmm.... after re-reading your note I see that you are using the
    executables from the <master disk> - if you followed the installation
    procedure correctly you should not have to do this - the <master
    disk> can go back onto the top shelf along with all your other master
    copies :-). The installation leaves you with a bootable <user disk>
    complete with startup-sequence and after executing "A-render v.3
    <user disk>:A-render/programs/delete-docs-and-pics" (or something
    like that) you're left with quite a lot of room on the disk as well.

    P.S. I didn't like it.

    Would you consider sending me your startup-sequence and
    system-configuration files? These do not seem to be present in
    the archive.  Thanks!
1135.5Your choice.AYOV10::ATHOMSONEqual RitesFri Feb 05 1988 13:2912
    As I don't have a modem I can't just put it up on the net somewhere.
    AND as I'm in the UK, interoffice mail can take up to 2 weeks to
    get to the states (where I presume you are), you may be quicker
    trying to get another copy of Fish #99 elsewhere........

    BUT - if you still want it I can send you either a complete <master
    disk> or a useable <user disk> whichever you want, rather than just
    the system-startup and system-configuration files.

    	mail me.

    	If there is a problem with the ARC file on MVCAD3 I will
    re-build the ARC and upload it again. Also I work in
    Shrewsbury MA. and I be happy to make you a copy of FF #99.
