4620.0. "On-line "training"?" by BIGUN::chmeee::Mayne (I look like Captain James T Kirk?) Tue May 28 1996 08:06

So what with all training being banned, it would make sense that course notes,
handouts, sample code, whatever the training consists of, would be made
available on-line so that the majority of us who are lucky to ever see the
inside of a classroom can so some "CBT". Not everything, of course, but handouts
from a course like "Teach yourself UNIX commands" would prove might useful to
some.

On the other hand, training doesn't belong to Digital, which is all the more
reason *not* to find this kind of stuff available to us.

So, is there a repository for training handouts somewhere (as opposed to
one-off postings of course notes)? I'm sure that there are many people who have
huge piles of paper which could be photocopied/faxed/mailed, but that's labour
intensive. If only hand-outs were done on floppies or over the net.

Mentys costs money (the point was to do it without paying) and the front page
blatantly says "Available in Canada only".

The others look like fun, though.
