If the firm in question is Drake, Beam and Morin, this whole idea is a crock
as they have _not_ been successful in completing placement for "all the DEC
people". As a matter of fact, they haven't successfully placed _any_ of the
several ex-DECcies I know of whom avail themselves of their services.

jobs, I would not mind rewarding them. Maybe they'll be doing the same
for us.

| From what I understand (having had the pleasure of informing
ex-employees about the DBM 'benefit'), is that DBM is not expected to place
employees. Rather, they are supposed to assist the employee in finding a
job by providing resume services, counseling, telephone answering
support and the like. They do not attempt to match employees to jobs;
they are not an employment agency.
This seems to be standard business practice in US industry. Probably
corporations want to keep an arms-length relationship with the ex-employee,
presumably to avoid being held accountable for an ex-employees inability
to find a new job.

| I talk with someone who is "attending" DBM daily and the one thing she missed
greatly is they do not have any hooks into the internet. The misc.jobs,
ne.jobs, misc.jobs_offered etc posting are not available to her. Everyone
shows up with a newspaper.
