3896.0. "Virtual Wedding sponsored by Digital??" by BAHTAT::HILTON (Beer...now there's a temporary solution) Tue May 23 1995 08:28

I saw in a UK PC Games mag, a section on a Virtual Reality Wedding.
On reading more about the event, and I discovered that it was run on 6
Digital 3000 workstations, and also in some of the pictures, the
    Digital logo was prominent.

    Anyone have any more details?

    Cheers,

    Greg

I thought they already had that kind of stuff in the
dodgy adverts at the back of some of the trashier PC magazines?

A similar VR wedding took place in California last summer. It was
published in an issue of the US edition of "Digital Today" -- July
or August of 1994, I think.

It was also featured on an episode of "Beyond 2000".

The "Virtual Wedding" actually took place at CyberMind here in San
Francisco, CA, USA. I remember seeing the Digital logo prominently
displayed in the photo in the newspaper at the time.

CyberMind is a virtual reality game arcade where you strap on a headset
and "walk" around "shooting" other competitors. Pretty neat, actually.

    pretty sick actually.

shooting people, real or virtual has never seemed to me to be something
we should teach kids to do.

I don't know, I think it's a good idea to teach kids to shoot in self
defense. That's what mine will learn.

I'm confused. Digital had something to do with a VR wedding where people went
around shooting each other?

What do you mean "just" a Tennessee Hillbilly!

I'm proud to be a Tennessee Hillbilly (I'm from scenic, downtown
Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood!). My great-grandparents were even
1st cousins! If that isn't a hillbilly, what is?

That should probably be "Grandpa, John." A reference to a family tree
something like that described in the old song "I'm My Own Grandpa," about a guy
who married a widow, and his father married the widow's adult daughter. He was
his own grandfather, his father was his son-in-law, his son was his uncle,
etc., etc., etc....

Nope sorry don't have that situation in my family. I may be a
"Tennessee Hillbilly" but I didn't share a bed with any cousins etc..
Oh and by the way...I have all my teeth and wear shoes too!!
