check out bits-N-bytes, the new and modern corner store right here inside
ZKO in nashua (at the border of new hamshire and masssususteteetsts).
i've seen shirts and flipovers there with DEC logo in them. iam going
to buy coffee from there later on (their coffee is good) and i'll
check on the sizes and prices if you like.
when you come to ZKO, go to the main lobby, then turn left (going to
the cafeteria (they still dont have the right size soup spoons mind
you), and right next to the cafeteria you'll find the store. it is open
till 7 pm.

i also checked the prices on the "digital" logog sweet shirts in
our internal bits-N-bytes store when i went to get coffe. the go from $17
all the way to $13, they also have matching trousers to go along with
the top (they look like the stuff the some of the DECeeees who
go run around ZKO at lunch time wear), but the trousers are extra, they
are also $17 to $13 depending on the fabric and design.
please note that in new hamshire you do _NOT_ pay sales tax (unlike
masssuususstitteteeststs and colardo too iam sure). so if you buy
them from new hamshire/ZKO here you _SAFE_ more money. more money
for your pocket.

To All,
The Employees Activity Committee in NIO sponsors the "Employee Store" here
in NIO. It is open every Friday, and most Tuesdays and Thursday's during the
Noon Lunch Hour. The Store has "sweats", jogging shorts, tank tops, T-shirts,
jackets, and some office paraphenalia (pens, highlighters, etc.) and
miscellaneous item (golf balls, ski hats, baseball hats, teddy bears, license
plates, etc).
They also have the reduced-price tickets for some theaters (Canad, General
Cinema, etc.)
The location is near the Cafeteria.
Feel free to drop in and browse, or purchase, anytime you are in the area.

Unless it has changed recently, Massachusetts has sales tax
only on luxury clothes, not on 'common' clothes. Where
luxury is a single item costs more than $X -- X==100,150 I
can't remember.

OK, here's the situation...
We use profits from our EAC Store sales to fund MKO employee activities
such raffles, bowling, roller-skating, bus shopping trips, flea markets,
fishing derby, etc. The EAC is a volunteer organization and, truth is,
it's pretty hard to get people to volunteer and help out (sign of the
times...). The person who does procurement of merchandise for our
EAC Store is Matt Tancreti, DTN 264-4717, SEIC::TANCRETI, and as Treasurer,
I pay the bills. Since our store is one of the few left, we have been
known to open it off hours especially for Sales type people who use the
stuff to help leverage sales for |d|i|g|i|t|a|l|. We don't really want
to get into the mail order distribution business but if you have a need
give us a call and we'll see if we can make time for you. Best bet is
to let us know when you will be in town and what you may need. We take
cash and checks, US currency only. Would you really want to pay shipping
for this stuff?

In view of yesterday's 3178.0 announcement I thought it might be a
good idea to clarify how this affects the EAC of MKO...
The only discount tickets we have ever been involved with are Movie
tickets for the Loews, General Cinema, and CANAD Theaters. We are NOT
allowed to profit from selling these tickets, however, they do act as
a "carrot" bringing people into our EAC Store where they may buy
|d|i|g|i|t|a|l| logo items. We replenish our ticket supply by dealing
directly with General Cinema and CANAD. Our Loews supplier is/was the
Corporate Employee Activities & Recreation Group in Maynard so it looks
like Loews discount movie tickets are at risk in our EAC Store. The
Human Resource advisor to the EAC of MKO was TFSO'd months ago and has
NOT been replaced.
In other EAC of MKO news: In May we did a campaign to try to increase
the membership of our volunteer organization and we're quite successful!
We gained six or seven new volunteers and are presently in the process
of planning our Fishing Derby as well as a Flea/Ski Market in the Fall.
The next event that WILL take place is our annual free Beach Raffle to
take place June 30...

Ditto for the Employee Activities Committee of Spit Brook. That announcement had no effect on our CANAD and General Cinema discount movie tix. We still buy them direct (using EACSB funds) and sell them without markup to the ZKO folks. We have a new sweat and tee order out, and that should be available soon. The sweats and tees will be available in the Bits & Bytes cafeteria store. In addition, we're working on buying discount ticket books that will be good at local stores of certain chains: McDonalds, Subway, and some more. The tix will entitle the bearer to "buy 1, get 1 free." We'll announce these when they're available -- they're coming, but not here yet. Art | |||||

The Employee Activities Committee of Spit Brook (EACSB) would like to
clarify that we are a separate entity from Digital's Employee Activities
and that all discount programs that we run are still in effect.
Since we are a small, local committee, the types of discount tickets we
sell are local movie theaters and NH/MA fundraiser discount books.
At this time we have the following discount tickets and books:
General Cinema (adult) tickets - $4.50
General Cinema (kids) tickets - $2.75
Canad Theaters tickets - $4.50
Treat Out Club booklets (available July 1) - $6.00
Dine Out Tonight Cards (good for 1994) - $11.00 (reduced price)
The Treat Out Club books are new and feature half-price and 2-for-1
specials at fast-food type establishments such as Papa Gino's,
McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts, Haagen-Dazs, Carvel's, etc.
Dine Out cards are for 2-for-1 meals at fine restaurants.

The WINNER of the EAC of MKO Life's a Beach Raffle was Jorge Cardona
from MK1. He works for NNE/FMC (Northern New England/Financial
Management Center and was very pleased to win since he just had a
swimming pool installed at his home... Jorge walked away with a
couple of beach chairs, a matching beach umbrella, a Boogie Board,
beach towels, a weekend camera, coolers, ice paks, beach ball, sun
tan lotion, etc. Included in this haul were |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| logo'd
items from our EAC Store such as koozies, visors, and an ice scraper
in case it (this being New England) snowed...

Employees from MKO1 & MKO2 filled out a raffle ticket and then
visited the EAC Store where they placed their ticket into a raffle
box. ONE ticket per employee, EAC Members were ineligible to win...

t-shirts from Comdex? Specifically, the one with the picture on the

Too bad. It would be great advertising for DEC when worn by employees
in public. You'd be surprised at how many people still don't what the
