2097.0. "Digital Bonds" by ASDG::FOSTER (radical moderate) Fri Sep 11 1992 13:48

I have heard that Digital has contacted the SEC to get approval for a
$1 billion bond offering. What I want to know is whether DEC'ies will
get first dibs on the bonds in an arrangement similar to the ESPP.

    Anybody know?

Digital filed papers that allow the Corporation of issue bonds if and
when Digital decides there is a need to. It's probably not known
outside of the Executive Committee and/or BoD *IF* there will ever be
such an offering, much less when, and less than that, if employees
would get any kind of special treatment.

On the other hand, given the kind of "treatment" employee benefits have
received lately (to quote another noter: "*Flush*"), we'll probably be
allowed to purchase them at 10% over market value with cash only, by
appearing in person at some remote location between 4:00 and 4:15 a.m.
local time, provided nobody else in the world wants them. No receipts or
certificates will be provided for employees, in order to keep costs down.

    I was about to write:

4:00 to 4:15? Hey, that's during work hours! You want 'da bonds, do
    it on your own time!

    Then I saw the 'a.m.'...

Remember that some people (in the CSC's for example) *are* working at those
hours...
