1975.0. "DECWORLD MAGAZINE" by FATBOY::BENSON () Thu Jul 09 1992 19:20

Anybody notice how shabby the latest DECWORLD magazine was? I usually
enjoy the engineering slant it has (had?) exposing the big ideas behind
    the products.

I wonder if the magazine's obvious poor quality and shallow content is
    reflective of anything?

    Any others notice?

Maybe most of the people have been reassigned to do something more
useful. If so that's a good sign. Next step is to tube the publication
    altogether.

Management Memo was much better this month. The only contributors were
Ken and John Sims.

perhaps you'd like to read note 1969.0 . For example!
An other little example for our great marketing job
is that anyone will hardly be able to find an article
in a relevant bussiness magazine that doesn't claim
Digital to be a minimaker; The minimaker. You like
to hear this?? Who is going to buy minis today? If
I'm only half right, getting 'open systems' is
what customers want first. HP is manifacturing minis
too, and we have to admit they do a much better selling job,
BUT you'll hardly find HP to be called a 'minimaker'.

I think lessening concentration on marketing aspects
even more is a big step ahead to the edge of precipice.
