CAVEAT:

There are a couple of possible problems with this note.

    a) DIGITAL and its employees are always active in their communities. So
I thought it would not be inappropriate to use this conference to reach
a wide distribution of people. But, this *may* contravene
the rules and so may not be the right conference for it. In which case,
moderator, it is O.K. to delete

b) It requests some voluntary action. It does NOT solicit funds, it is NOT
a political announcement, or in support of any religious or radical group.
So it should not be in violation of company P & Ps. If it is, again, please
delete - no hard feelings.

It is a painless, even enjoyable, and costless way to show support. I hope
you will all participate to the extent possible. There are numbers given at
the end for more information. If not, you can also send VAXMail to me at
NETMAN::KRISHNASWAMY or call DTN 226-5534.

Now to the NOTE:

		PARTNERSHIP FOR LITERACY READ-A-THON

The Maynard adult learning center, the Patriots Trail Girl Scout Council
and the libraries of Acton, Maynard, Stow, Sudbury and Hudson will host
read-a-thons for literacy on THURSDAY APRIL 5 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Refreshments will be served all day and an area in the library will be set
up for any volunteer to show support for literacy by silent reading.
Participants will sign in, keep track of pages read, and sign out when
finished. This simple gesture will show support for reading and literacy
skills.

You are not required to be there all day, just for the time you can
afford ( a long lunch hour perhaps or an hour or two in the evening on
    the way home?)

You can choose books from the library, or bring your own reading material.

For more information, call the appropriate library, or Patriots Trail Girl
Scout Council at (800) 882-1662.

     Thanks again

    Krishna
