4612.0. "PM to PM communications" by MQOSWS::F_MONETTE (Montreal Sales Support) Fri Feb 26 1993 11:38

I just want to know what the Enhanced PM to PM communication
mean in the 1.3 releases notes. I don't understand how it
works. Is there any documentation about this new feature.

Any help ??

Francois.

The v1.3 kit has some undocumented pm-pm communication
    mechanisms. Try running sys$system:mcc_pm2pm_driver or
/usr/bin/mcc_pm2pm_driver while you have an iconic map
running. This will give you some idea of the capabilities
it provides. Be sure you are running it on the same system
as the iconic map AND the display is set to the same
    system as the iconic map's.

I don't get it. I tried out the program. It seems just to be a program to
test out opening new window, changing icon colors etc. ( By the way #6
hangs ) Is this correct? Or is there some special feature that I
    have missed?

That's it. It's just an *example* of the types of things an
application can *do* via PM-to-PM toolkit. Nothing more.

I didn't happen to see if the source code for the binary was there.
*That* would be useful, but I think that's something that should
rightly be part of the PM Dev. Toolkit.

I can't comment on why option #6 'hangs'. Jim?
