2374.0. "AM won't startup on Ultrix" by MICROW::LANG () Wed Feb 19 1992 20:14

    I'm having a problem with the AM starting up, on enrollment, or
    when issuing a command. This process is submitted to batch, but
    ran fine for about a month. Running interactively starts ok.

    I'm running this, using MCC 1.2 External Field test on Ultrix.

    Can anyone give me some ideas?

    This is message:

    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Waiting: MM mcc_tps_am has not completed startup
    Will try again on next dispatch to MM:
    %MCC-E-TRANSMITERROR, error trying to transmit a packet

    On every call.

    	Thanks,
    			Bonnie

This means that you AM did not start for some reason (enroll/init/...? failed)

A way to have more information is start the AM process by hand (or better, via
dbx) :

$MCC_MMEXE_LOCATION N Y

or

dbx $MCC_MMEXE_LOCATION

then run.

With the information you give, there is no way to guess what is the problem.

Regards.

2374.2%MCC-F-EVT_POOL_CORRUPTED MICROW::LANGFri Feb 21 1992 18:1326

    	Thanks for the tip, I have to experiment to see how
    	this works submitting from batch.

        On the last run, more information was returned. I've seen the can't
    	find MM file, but usually it is not accompanied by the other errors.

    	I know the can't find MM file is an obvious, fixable problem
        Bu do the other errors also indicate something more seriously
    	wrong? I have seen the %MCC-F-EVT_POOL_CORRUPTED once before
    	(without the can't find MM file) but didn't understand what
    	it meant.
    			thanks,
