5526.0. "can't deregister/register a node4" by HGOVC::ALEXCHEUNG (Alex Cheung @hgo) Tue Aug 24 1993 09:41

    Hi,

    My customer is using local namespace.

    He tried to dergister a phaseiv node, it will say "not registered
    entity". Then he tried to register it, it says "duplicate registeration
    identifier". So he can't either erase the node or add it back.

    Which is the data file containing the node information? I want to patch
    it. Can I have the format of the file? Or is there any easier method or
    trick?

    Thanks

5526.1Register with another addressSTKMCC::LUNDNiklas LundTue Aug 24 1993 17:1910
Hi, try this:

The trick i use is to complete the register of the phase iv node with an
address of a node that is reachable and not already in MCC's MIR.
After this you can deregister the node.

    Niklas,

    I have tried to use another address but still failed to deregister the
    node. According to customer, when he register this node, the system
    crash. So i think the record is corrupted. Is the node4 information
    only contained in the file mcc_dns_ent.dat. Any tools to reapir it.

    Thanks.
