    No. But if someone developed them and wanted to contribute them
    we would consider putting them on a future distribution kit.

3058.2Datacollector events from PC to DECmccHLRG02::SYSTEMIncredible but . . . not true .Tue Sep 01 1992 11:3913
Hi,

Here in Holland, we have developed a tool so you can send events from a PC to
the DECmcc Datacollector.
If anybody has interest in this he can let me know.

Kindest regards,

3058.3great news to .2TOOK::JEAN_LEETue Sep 01 1992 20:5819
    Hank,

    	Great!

    	Yes, I am interested. Are you calling mcc_evc_api or using a
    	command line that invokes the API? Did you need to modify the
    	source code that was shipped in V1.2 at all?

    	What type of PC you're sending event from? What sort of management
    	information that you're collecting and monitoring?

    	Would it be possible you can send me a snapshot of your tool that
    	feeds data into collector API?

    	Your information will be much appreciated.

3058.4Can we also integrate data via the Script AM?MOLAR::BLACKFri Sep 04 1992 11:194
    Can the tool be extended to support propagation of attribute
    information from a PC into DECmcc via the Script AM? This would
    complement your PC event functionality.

3058.5Yes.HLRG02::SYSTEMIncredible but . . . not true .Tue Sep 08 1992 14:4415
Hi,

Yes it is possible to use both the script am and this tool, BUT than we have to
do some packaging and a few changes.

If you can show me that there is a big demand for this maybe I can find some time
to do this things.

3058.6These are separateWELLIN::MCCALLUMWed Sep 09 1992 10:1216

    Well I think that you can get information from DOS with the script AM
    on its own quite happily.

    If you run the job spawner on DOS (under windows) then a VMS script can
    kick of a job on DOS quite easily and get some info back. If this
    script is kicked off from DECmcc via the script am then the info can be
    got into DECmcc easily.

    the script am and the data collector are essentially separate things
    offering different functionality, the data collector is a pc initiated
    alert mechanism, the script am a VMS initiated data gathering
    mechanism.
