3799.0. "MCC Crashing" by TYCOCH::WILLIAMSG () Thu Sep 24 1992 15:38

Hi there,

I have a problem where DCM crashes (Iconic Map, Notification window) with
the following:

%CMA-F-EXCCOP, exception raised; VMS condition code follows
-SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual address=00000004, PC
=000A1C60, PSL=03C00004

The system in question is a VAXStation 4000 model 60 with 32 MBytes of
memory.

Has anyone else seen this ??

Cheers,

Gary.

We need more information

What version of DECmcc?
What were you doing when the crash occurred?
Is it repeatable?

    MCC version T1.2.7
This appears to happen overnight whilst workstation screen is paused.
The problem has been occuring regularly for the past 2 weeks.

Could the IMPM process be running out of memory?

Are you by any chance running a large number of Data Collector events
through the IMPM/notification window?

What is the VIRTUALPAGECNT of the system and PAGEFILQUOTA of the process?
If the peak virtual size of the process approaches either of these
figures, you're probably running out of memory, hence the accvio.
