2923.0. "Q: after autoconfig " by HKGACT::SUSANCHAN () Mon May 04 1992 11:31

1. How to move an node4 to another domain both on the map and in the database?

2. When do autoconfig, I did specify to have a backbone horizontal, but the
node4 in a domain are displayed in a circle. How can I redraw the topology
without delete and register the node4 again?

3. The routers are connect to a horizotal segment named sub_net:.dna_node.xxxxx
but nothing on that segment. Why? Is it because I select autoconfig of the
LAN? Can I furthur use configure to find out the nodes on that segment?

Thanks,
Susan

2923.1Nodes on the LAN - Which option did you choose?TOOK::FIGWERUlla Figwer LKG2-2/T2 x226-7858Mon May 04 1992 19:0661
Hello Susan,

>1. How to move an node4 to another domain both on the map and in the database?

To move a node4 entity from one domain to another you have to
delete the entity from the map for one domain and add it to the
map for another domain. You can do this using the Iconic Map
        Toolbox.

Open the domain that the entity belongs to. Select the Toolbox
item from the Edit menu on the Iconic Map. Select the icon which
is a circle with one line through it (top, leftmost icon in the
Toolbox). This icon will delete the entity from the map without
deregistering it. Go to the map and click on the node4 entity
you would like to delete from the map. Save the map.

Open the domain to which you would like to add the entity.
Select the NODE4 icon from the Toolbox. Enter the full name
of the entity at the NODE4 prompt (the name which Autoconfiguration
used to register the entity; e.g. ".dna_node.xyz"). Go to
the map and click on the place where you would like to add the
	entity.

>2. When do autoconfig, I did specify to have a backbone horizontal, but the

>without delete and register the node4 again?

You can remove the existing lines from the map, without affecting
the node4 entities, and then redraw the lines to represent a
	backbone.

You can remove the lines using the same Toolbox icon - the
one which is a circle with one line through it.

Select the Toolbox item from the Edit menu on the Iconic Map.
To delete a line, select the delete icon from the Toolbox (circle
with one line through it), go to the map and click on the line you
	would like to delete.

To draw new lines, select the line icon in the Toolbox. Go
to the map, click on the starting point, and then on the end point
of the line. The Options menu in the Toolbox allows you to modify
	the Line Width.

Before I answer your question I want to make sure I understand
which option you chose. Was it [3], [6] or [9]?

Also, if you could post here (or mail to TOOK::FIGWER) the
map file for this domain created by Autoconfiguration
	that would help.

	Thanks,

	Ulla

I choose option [3]. I am not sure which map file I should mail you?

    Hello,

If XXX is the name of the domain you specified when you ran
Autoconfiguration, I'm interested in the map called MCC_XXX.MCC_MAP.

    Thanks.
