2840.0. "Notification and clearing an event notification" by PJWL::LAMB (Peter Lamb - GSG Santa Clara MAIL=MUTTON::LAMB) Fri Apr 24 1992 05:24

Background: DECnet sink receives adjacency down message.
Targeting re-targets this message as severity critical. The
Node comes back up and generates an the router we are sinked
to generates an adjacency up message...

QUESTION: What severity or other method can I use to "clear
the cirtical (red) color of my icon. If I use "CLEAR" it
looks like the icon does not change because this is a lower
priority severity level and thus it remembers the higher
level event.

Help!!

I think you could change propogation from HIGHEST to LAST but there are
still some gotcha's with multi-level domains.

See note 2405. There isn't a resolution yet but Mr. Ditmars and company
appear to be hot on the tracks of providing one. Glad to see someone else
asking.

2840.2it's coming -- non-OSI compliant event correlationTOOK::CALLANDERMCC = My Constant CompanionMon Apr 27 1992 21:4810

Brad, you got it right, and these fixes are going in right now. They
will be in the final kit. Without getting into details (see 2405) what
is being done is a modification in the notification PM functions that
will allow the user to setup "correlation" of events for non-OSI
compliant events (yup that means DNA4 events) based on entities and
    severity only.

Thanks Brad, we hope this meets your need.
