335.0. "Icon for Multi-Word Entity" by COOKIE::KITTELL (Richard - Architected Info Mgmt) Thu Sep 20 1990 00:33

I've got an global entity called Stor Mgmt Domain. I'm trying to figure
out how to get it's icon to show up in the toolbox.

I've tried various icon file names, and "No input bitmaps found for
Stor mgmt domain" is reported for all but one: MCC_STORMGMTDOMAIN_ICON.DAT.
That makes sense, because the dictionary drops the spaces in the name,
too.

Now, although the "No bitmaps found" message isn't reported anymore the icon
doesn't show up in the toolbox. All my other global entity icons are
coming up, so I assume it is the fact that the entity name is multi-word.

I've verified that the icon bits themselves are okay by renaming the
file to that of one of the other global entities. It then appears in
the toolbox over the global entity name I called it.

Any ideas?

335.1Not a option from DomainCOOKIE::KITTELLRichard - Architected Info MgmtThu Sep 20 1990 16:426
It occurred to me that since the entity has Domain in the name, perhaps if
I clicked on the Domain icon my Stor Mgmt Domain icon would show up as
an option in the create domain dialog box.

Nope.

Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."

Doctor: "Don't do that."

Sure enough, when I changed:

    GLOBAL ENTITY Stor Mgmt Domain = 21 :

to

    GLOBAL ENTITY StorMgmtDomain = 21 :

the icon in MCC_STORMGMTDOMAIN_ICON.DAT showed up in the toolbox.

BTW, the algorithm that positions icons in the toolbox window doesn't consider
the size of the entity name, and in the case of this one, the name overlaps
that of the Archive icon next to it.
