137.0. "QUESTION - What ethernet protocol type is used for BRIDGE management?" by DSTEG1::MCCANN () Tue May 29 1990 18:58

What ethernet protocol type is used (by the Bridge AM) for
bridge management? 80-38?

Does the Bridge AM generate any 60-03 frames?

Is the bridge architecture spec available on-line?

Thanks,

Jack

    Yes.

Not directly. The MCC kernel may generate them as a byproduct of
accessing DNS for bridge name/address translations (of course the
target address would not be the bridge)...

An "almost final" version of the Bridge AM MRM Chapter, which lists
    the nitty-gritty about entities/attributes/directives/exceptions/etc
for the Bridge, is available online (contact me at WLYWLD::Brienen
    for a copy).

The actual bridge architecture is the responsibility of Floyd Backes.
Try contacting him for a copy...
