54.0. "QUESTION: MCC on multiprocessor systems" by DSTEG::MCCANN () Thu Feb 15 1990 17:26

If I run MCC on a multiprocessor system, does MCC try to take advantage of the
multiple CPUs, i.e. does MCC do parallel processing?

    Currently, MCC makes no use of any multiprocessing capability within a
    single process. (Of course, multiple users running MCC can take
    advantage of multi-processors, but that is due to VMS and not MCC)

    Sometime in the future it is *possible* that we would allow threads
    within a single process to be scheduled on multiple processors - that
    is likely to require more effort in VMS than it is in MCC.
