    Been a NASCAR fan since early 80's, love the sport. But I am a little
    miffed as what been going on at speedweeks.
    
    First the Cup cars. The Busch Clash was a bust. Cars have little or no
    passing power, if you attempt to make a pass your going backwards.
    Don't know what changed from last year, springs, cold air flow in carb,
    spoiler.
    
    NASCAR better do something or Sunday's 500 could be a real sleeper. I
    have season tickets at Daytona, won't be there this year, and happy about
    it after watchin' the Clash.
    
    Grand National series. Very glad they went back to the V8's. Me and the
    Gaffer have lost 50% of our hearing after so many V6 races we attneded.
    But what really gets my attention is the BGN's qualified faster than
    the Cup cars at Daytona ! Now wait a minute NASCAR's premier division
    is now slower than the BGN divison ?  Not good, NASCAR needs to sort it
    out, because it certainly is out of whack. IMO.

    
    
    Jimmy Spencer's crew was busy yesterday removing the blood and fixin'
    the dents in the front of his smokin' Joe's car for Sunday's Rockingham
    race. Some things never change.

    Gary Nelson has announced today that Ernie Irvan will be allowed
    to strap in his seeing eye dog this weekend at Bristol.  This
    will be a 1st in Winston Cup racing, but Nascar has said they want
    to do everything they can to keep the drivers and teams equal  :*)

    On yesterday's RPM Tonite, Benny Parsons, forever the voice of reason,
    gave his thoughts on the accident... and I agree with him...
    
    If you want to win the race, you MUST get  your lap back.  Period.  I
    can imagine that Ernie is watching Terry Labonte on his right, and his
    spotter is telling him that the wrecked car is on the infield, so Ernie
    thinks he's home free... not figuring that Sacks would slow so far down
    where there didn't seem to be any wreckage in front of him.

    I agree with the race to win, you must get your lap back, I have a
    difficult time with the careless style that Ernie displayed on Sunday.
    
    IMO he is not the same driver he was before The Wreck. I give him a lot
    of credit to fight and come back, he'd shown a great deal of guts. But
    he is the new Jimmy Spencer of NASCAR WC.

Ernie made a HUGE mistake, no excuses. He ought to say so, and forever 
stop whining and threatening payback when someone else makes a mistake. 
I'm losing respect for him.

    It will be interesting to see how NASCAR handles the language thing. 
    I'm sure his sponsor didn't appreciate the GD words on live tv.  
    
    If the only bump Jimmy gave him was the pass in turn 3, the replays
    looked like Spencer was pretty far up on the inside, and Geoff came
    down.  He was sure a lot further up than Earnhardt was on Kyle.

    	I am.
    I suppose that's why the fans cheer so loud when he has problems.
    
    Reminds me alot of what Earnhart was doing a fews years back that
    got him the intimidator tag.

    must be watching another sport! Even Rusty (the biggest whiner there
    is!) had nothing bad to say about Gordon's win. How about Dull spinning
    Petty? Dull was down on the apron, if someone did that to him you'd
    never hear the end of it. It's short track racing, you've got to be
    willing to trade some paint. Rusty was holding Gordon up for the last
    20 laps, nothing wrong with that, but you've got expect a bump when
    you're in the way!

That move by JG is standard practice on short tracks all across this 
country!!!  Any driver that is ANY good would do the same thing on the last 
lap.  That's the beauty of short track racing, you can bump and push and 
rub without wrecking someone.  JG surprised me with that, I expected him to 
settle w/ 2nd after TL started getting after him.

	Flash Gordon knew that Wusty was loose, since his car was dancing
 on corners, and bumped him in the corner causing him to lose traction and get
 sideways. What got me is that by doing this to Wusty, he almost took out
 T Labonte,  but luckily Wusty and Terry were able of handling it.....

	Why didn't Texas Terry do it to Flash Gordon when they were battling
 for that 2nd spot??? Texas Terry wanted the win just has much, but maybe
 didn't want to endanger everyone behind with a spinning Flash Gordon.....

	Call it racing, or what ever, but he took a chance of taking Wusty,
 Terry, etc..... I bet the next time Flash is out front, th eguy behind him
 won't mind nudging him either (off the track)......

      What Flash did was OK (IMO)....(And I like Rusty "boom-boom"
    Wallace)

      Then there is Geoff "Potty Mouth" Bodine....I understand he was
    ripped, but man - What a mouth! He should probably be a little more 
    careful who he calls a jerk. 

      I mean, GB is 5'7" @ 160 LBS, and he's calling a guy who is 6"
    and 60 LBS larger than him a jerk. JS is 6'1" @ 220...Hes not a
    small boy! (and from the past, doesn't have a cool temper either)

      I wouldn't be suprised if GB got chased around the hauler a few
    times last sunday! 

    I know I would run if I had JS chasin my butt!

    RPM 2night (last night) said two fines for Bodine.  One for the
    on-track incident and one for the interview.  Bodine told them that;
    NASCAR would not confirm it.
    
    I don't have any problem with Gordon's tap; it's the ones like
    Earnhardts that are barely past the guys bumper in the left rear
    quarter panel that I get upset about.  Like Rusty did to Waltrip in the
    Winston that year.  The grey area is how far up on the inside should
    the car be, before the one on the outside let's him go.  Spencer had
    the front of his car up to about the 7 on Bodine's door.  42 cars at
    Martinsville should provide the same stuff this weekend.
