I know they've never been very good. I support Doncaster Rovers, an infinitely
superior local team. 8-)

Doncaster Rovers are a good team, but looking at the present form and
league status,Rotherham United are a much better team all round
                                                  kev.

Had some interesting times down at Millmoor in days gone bye, watching
unimportant events like the County Cup. How are Rotherham doing at the
moment? I think you may be the only one with more than a passing
interest so keep the match reports rolling.

BTW I'm glad you've found the Caps Lock key on your keyboard. ALL THAT

Can anyone out their, tell me if there is such a thing as a Rotherham
United supporters club in the London area.
                                             Cheers,

Try looking in the back of When Saturday Comes. It doesn't list fan clubs, but
it does list fanzines, which may then be able to put you in touch with other
similarly afflicted fans.

I've got some old back issues at home, so I'll look tonight if I remember.

There is *actually*. It's also a very democratic organisation.
Following the Labour Party all it's decisions are made on a One Member,
One Vote basis. Basically he does whatever he likes.

I remember going to see The Owls V Rotherham, back when we were in the
    2nd (not the recent time).
Rotherham had a target man who they thought a lot of, called (if my
memory serves me right) Ronny Moore. We gave this guy hell every time
he got the ball (Ronny Moore, Ronny Moore, Ronny, Ronny Moore, he gets
the ball and does f*** all, Ronny Ronny Moore etc..).
We beat 'em convincingly (something like 5-1) but Ronny scored the
consolation goal. The Wednesday cop gave him a big cheer, and he responded
be doing a somersault for us.

    Happy days...

Rotherham still have to play Leyton Orient at the o's ground next
month.Anyonebody interested in going to see a revitalised team, let me
know.We need around 12 decys for a good day out to watch some
scrappy, but entertaining football.Plus the ground at Orient has a
    decent bar?
                   (Any takers).

Rotherham do have a London supporters club. In one of my less sane
moments I took a train to Aldershot to watch the Millers win 1-0.
Awful game and the shots didn't finish the season. The programme
    mentioned a London supporters club.

Try WSC or else I'll look up the programme.

What divison are Rotherham in ??

I always thought it was the Vauxhall Premier !!

And as for Doncaster Rovers !!!.............

Arsenal F.C. are still selling tickets for forthcoming matches at
    Highbury (the home of football.)

Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool and Manchester Utd all have to take on the
Gunners at home, plus F.A. and Euro Cup-Winners Cup.

Also, I think your find that David 'ENGLANDS NUMBER 1' Seaman is
Rotherham born & bred and started his footy career there....

Given the choice of watching Donny or Arsenal, I suspect I would hesitate for
nary a second before catching the first train to South Yorkshire. And the same
goes for Rotherham or Arsenal.

    Paul,

They must be a mighty big club, coz they rate a mention in SEGA's footie
    game "European Club Soccer" !

You can compete with the best in this game as you attempt to win
Europe's coveted prize, which incidentally Celtic have won & Rangers
    haven't.
You can choose from leading Italian giants like Milan, Internazionale,
Sampdoria.......or Spain's Barcelona, Real or Atletico Madrid.
There's also Ajax, Bayern Munich, Marseille & Benfica from around the
globe. Scotland have Celtic, rangers & Aberdeen..........whilst
Eng-er-land have Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea &........Rotherham

So you see, they must be HUGE !!!

    PAUL,
I can remember a match between Rotherham and Arsenal back in the
early 80's down at Millmoor. It was a league cup match 3rd round tie
with Rotherham winning 3-1. Good old days eh?
I bet you the next time they meet Rotherham will win again.I also see
Bolton Wanderers had a good win the other week?????
                                                    Adios amigo,
                                                                Kevin.

    Si Signor Kev,
I don't rightly remember the Rotherham 3 - Arsenal 1 league cup match
you mention, but in the early eighties Gunners side was not one of our
better eras in our illustrious history. It must have been one of those
cup upsets (don't mention Bolton !) that we see only too frequently these
    days...

I'm actually all for the underdogs overturning the fat cats of soccer
in cup matches. I think it's what makes cup football so exciting. But
at the end of the day, do we really want a Bolton - Luton F.A. Cup
final this year ?? (although I don't think we will with Man Utd playing
so well this season. My F.A. Cup prediction; A Man Utd - West Ham
    final...

Any further news on Rotherham; I.E. League position, Star players,
Nicknames, Team colours, Ground etc would be appreciated, I no nothing
    about them !!!

                             Mucho Cerveza.....................

    Paul,
Im afraid Rotherham are not doing to well this season.Presently
they are lying 4th from bottom of the second division.Ive a strong
feeling they will be relagated this year (sob sob)As for the teams
colours-red and white, but it may have changed in the last few years as
i havent seen them at home.I do know that they are playing at Brentford
this Saturday,so if you fancy going along, you can judge for yourself
    what they are like.
